well, I do. The best description of your post is wedging. Trying to find a point where you can successfully pare off a wee bit of Rights. You are working for a reduction in Rights. sorry, but I guess that does put you on the other side of the fence from me.

I'm sure one of these days we will be hearing Obama saying that he didn't know about peoples rights until he heard it on the news.

...and when we do claim them, socialists say there are no Rights, just privileges granted by the police state. I love it when the low-born (subjects, serfs) tell us what Rights are

And that is part of the problem. People with little to no knowledge of the subject are making it so people can't access items, even if they want them. Try and buy a 100W light bulb and see where that gets you. Politicians are all hacks, even the ones with (R) in front of their name.

Every time we have a garage sale(rummage sale, yard sale, whatever term you use) a guy comes by and introduces himself as a retired Air Force Colonel and asks if we have any guns for sale. I bet he has a ton of guns, but it's still easier to buy a book or vegetable, unless you are after The Anarchist's Cookbook or something like that. (I probably just put myself on a government list for mentioning that title.)

On a slow world breaking news day I like to keep the NSA busy.

I'll send out a couple of dozen e-mails that have the words pressure cooker; Allahu Akbar; birth certificate; Kalashnikov; Tea Party; illegal alien; patriot, in the messages. It keeps them busy and on their toes but it might be keeping Obama up late at night and might be affecting his golf games.

I bought a copy of "The Anarchist's Cookbook" back during the 1970's. It was written by a "New Left" liberal but was popular with many of the original conservative survivalist back during the Carter era during the 70's. There's better books out there.

Perhaps there is an overreaction here.. Perhaps obama was looking FORWARD, to the day when a book or vegetable will be very difficult to buy. In that time, prophetically speaking, it would be easier to buy a gun. Perhaps he was having a vision, & misheard the 4 living creatures say, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine!” Remembering dramatic supernatural events like this would confuse anyone, especially one who is busy aiding & abetting a world takeover of islam. So he probably just got it mixed up, or was thinking about reading one of michelle's books on healthy gardening. So it came out guns & vegetables.

Abbie Hoffman, one of the ring leaders of the "New Left" who hijacked the Democrat party during the mid 1970's. That's when the Democrat liberal base started fleeing from the Democrat party and came under the GOP tent as neoconservatives.

Abbie helped put Nixon in the White House. He didn't know it at the time.

Actually, i went to the range today & loaded up, shot, & unloaded a bunch of clips. They were moon clips, for my new smith 625! I finally got me a 45acp revolver, & went out & shot it for the first time today. It only has a 4" bbl, but it is as accurate as my 5" 1911s.

Of course, i use magazines in the 1911s, but in a couple of revolvers, i actually use clips. The sks uses them, too, & the vz58. ..come to think of it, the old mosin uses clips, or can use them. Maybe Ø was talking about old mosins! :D

How do you like that S&W 625 ?

Back during the early 70's I bought a Ruger, Black Hawk single action revolver chambered for the "long" Colt .45. It came with an extra cylinder chambered for the .45 ACP. Unfortunately at the time the .45 Colt, Ruger Black Hawks barrel lengths came in either 4 5/8" or 7" barrels. I got the 4 5/8" barrel. Today they have 5 1/2" barrels and that's what I would go with.

The .45 long Colt cartridge is an excellent law enforcement round, one of the best. I remember during the 70's and even the 80's while driving through Texas how many county Sheriffs and their deputies who were still packing .45 Colt single action revolvers.

S&W use to manufactured the .45 Colt, Mod. 25 double action revolver with a 6 1/2" barrel. They are hard to come by and when you come across one, they seem to be going for well over a thousand dollars.

Colt and S&W also made some double action .45 "long" Colt revolvers for the Army and Marine Corps during the 1890's and early 1900's.

I like it. It has a 4" bbl, but is as accurate as my 5" 1911s. I've only got about 100 rounds through it, but it has been flawless. NEVER a jam, goes bang every time. The moon clips make reloading fast & easy, though it takes more time to unload & load them than a semi-auto. Another nice thing, you don't have to walk around picking up your brass. Just drop the empties in the moon clip in your pocket for reloading later.

Its big, its heavy, but the trigger is smooth & it is very accurate. I reload, so it will handle some of my less successful attempts. Semi wad cutters, hollow points.. the projectile doesn't matter in a revolver. I have a couple of double stack 1911s that are fussy about what they will cycle. Ball ammo is about all they will feed reliably. I still like my para double stack, & you'll have to pry it from my cold, dead fingers to take it from me, but i'm digging the 45acp revolver.

I'm thinking i might try some auto rim brass.. no moon clips needed. But i like the way moon clips work, once you get the hang of them. Jerry Miculek, who was a co designer of this revolver, has no problem reloading, & holds the record for 12 rounds fired in under 3 seconds, WITH a reload! It takes me a little longer than that.. :D
