Ted Cruz going on Obamacare | Politics | CNN.com Ted Cruz decides to sign up for Obamacare less than 24 hours after he declared that he was running for president on a platform of repealing Obamacare. Do I even need to explain how hypocritical that is?
Well his wife's $20,000 a year benefit was already paid by the company and without taxes... I don't know his tax bracket, but with his wife's income, suppose it is 20%... The he has been benefiting from a $4000 a year subsidy for his health insurance as he has been paying no tax on this benefit. So as he collects thousands of dollars of subsidized healthcare, he wails against poor people who are going to receive subsidies as if they are freeloaders, but not acknowledging his own subsidy. And imaging if his wife had a pre-existing condition, then they would not be able to get insurance under what he proposes...
obeying the law while fighting to change it is the right thing to do. even with top government employees exempt, leading by example is always the right thing to do. it's nice to see the the only declared candidate not planning on thinking himself above the law.
This is just toooooo f'g funny! He loses his wife's coverage while she hits the campaign trail and then USES the very 'product' he swore to do away with PUBLICLY, at the same time BUILDING A POLITICAL PLATFORM on its ruination to run for PRESIDENT. “Well, it is written in the law that members will be on the exchanges without subsidies just like millions of Americans,” Cruz told the Register, adding: “I think the same rules should apply to all of us. Members of Congress should not be exempt.” HYPOCRISY!!!!! I talked to my REPUBLICAN accountant who hates OBAMA'S guts--he finally told me the other day, he has Obamacare. My office neighbor, a Republican with 4 kids at home and a non-working wife, he has Obamacare.
They aren't exempt despite teds dopey claims. They get subsidized insurance through yheir employer just like 80% of the country does. They just get theirs through the exchange.
lol. Had you bothered to read what you posted, you would know that he is opposed to 0bamacare but will "follow the letter of the law". Not even close to the definition of "hypocritical". The nonsense we're going to see between now and Nov 2016 is going to be pure comedy.
So, the government makes it mandatory to have health insurance and if you don't then you get penalized. So. these people follow the law and you seem surprised. Why?
Wait....no matter who you have insurance with you essentially have Obamacare because the rules mandate what types of coverage you're supposed have no matter who sells it to you. Technically, the exchanges aren't Obamacare.
If is Cruz is elected the left will probably blast him for going to Texas for Christmas rather than Hawaii, that's what the left does. The left hates Cruz which would be the cherry on top if he becomes president.
Hes a progressive of course. Did you really expect them to follow their own logic? Here is how their brain works......republican does something (even if its what they wanted and wrote into law) they disagree. Its a knee jerk autonomous brain that has been trained very well.
Cruz will never be President, but the left isn't smart enough to know that. They're just getting warmed up for the main event. It's why rational people pay ZERO attention to them. They remind me of squirrels chattering and nattering whilst fighting over a nut. Just noise. Annoying noise. Thankfully, one can choose whether to read their nonsense.
Ted Cruz used to get his insurance through his wife's company. She is on a leave now. His only option to find a plan due to Barack Obama is through the exchanges. What this actually does is make Ted Cruz's argument that he is being forced into a bad situation. Wait until you all see what a horrible deal he gets compared to his wife's previous plan. That is going to be the next shoe that drops on you leftists. This is a set up.
