Obama and the Democrats appear to say a lot of things that aren't true, one would think Immigration activists would understand that by now. If they think that's true of Obama, wait till they get a big fat load of Hillary.

Oh my, which face are the immigration activists supposed to believe? Remember they believed Obama too. Can they believe Hillary in 2016? I don't think so, but they CAN take a chance she's telling the truth. As long as they don't submit any paperwork that can be used to deport them later, I guess they can believe what she says. But, then again what's the point, right?

I'd just like immigration activists to remember one thing as we move toward 2016. The Democrats HAD a super-majority in 2009 - 2010 when they passed Obama Care without a single Republican vote.

Q: Why couldn't they have done the same with an Immigration reform Bill?
    A: They didn't WANT to.

He said the Democrats would address immigration reform in his first year as President.

So I guess those "Immigration activists" should start voting for the GOP...right?

We both know that won't happen. However, they need to send the Democrats a message by refusing to vote in 2016.

So if the Democrats secretly don't want immigration reform, doesn't that fall in line with your beliefs?

Of course it does.....and their constituents too. They are just dangling a carrot that will never be reached in front of Latinos. The real question is are Latino's smart enough to realize they are being played for suckers by the democrats that COULD have gotten immigration reform done in 2010, but chose NOT to?

Well, I suspect the Latinos know that between the two, they have a better shot with the Democrats. Then again, Republican messiah Reagan was responsible for the last major amnesty, so who knows.

Maybe it's the Republicans who are the amnesty party. Isn't that a kicker?

Maybe they should vote 3rd party such as libertarians, or just focus on getting any incumbent they can out of office regardless of party.

Better shot? What have the democrats done to deserve that? Pass immigration reform when they had the majority to do so? It just means they won't be voting anytime soon.

So this thread is basically you hoping and praying they stay home so they don't vote and prevent a Republican from winning in 2016, right?

It does and it doesn't. Yay, they're not 'legalizing' the mass stream of people who come over. But in not doing anything, they're leaving the country in political limbo and very likely will have us capsize one way or the other. Which appears to be the "political strategy" of the nimrods we call Democrats.

It's absolutely befuddling to see how a party lost a Supermajority and only got its "signature health care law" passed. It's like a bunch of children who had no idea how to politick got power in 2009. To highlight what Peabody said: Why didn't they pass "immigration reform" in 2009? They passed Crap Care without consulting the American People, they had the same power to do so as it regards "reform".

Either they were cowards or idiots, and either way they're not suit for leadership in 2016. Let's never forget what they've done for 6 years. Sabotaging the US economy and generally giving no solutions. "Raise the minimum wage!" Cute, this isn't your HS student council kids.

Seems pretty simple to me. One is a law-abiding, taxpaying contributor to our society. The other is a deadweight hoping to get a free lunch off of all of us. And for political convenience(since they can't be bothered to build a national coalition), the Liberals want to dangle a carrot in front of them just like they've dangled a carrot in front of every other "social group" or "oppressed minority".

Most libertarians I know don't vote actually. Think on this, Obama won reelection in 2012 (65.9 million) with less votes than he received in 2008 (69.5 Million).
His Republican challenger only gained about 1 million from '08 to '12; 59.9 million to 60.9 million. That means about 2.6 million less people voted 4 years later.

In fact voter turnout was lower in 2012 than it was in 2004.
    2012: 57.5%
    2008: 62.3%
    2004: 60.4%

My analysis is that younger voters like myself are far more libertarian, in 2008 the youth vote came out in larger numbers, sick of the status quo, many were taken in by Obama's rhetoric of a new Washington and changing the system; getting rid of gitmo, more transparency, less corporate welfare, getting out of Iraq, etc and so on.The youth voting percentage in 2008 hit the historic high set in 1972 when they changed the voting age to 18. Yet after his 4 year performance he rightfully lost lots of them and thus the youth vote declined in 2012.

I myself haven't voted for a Republican or democrat since 2004 the first national election I was of age to vote in. I vote 3rd party or abstain depending on the candidates. I will not pick the lesser of two evils anymore.

Working with the Dems who promised to secure the border and not to push for Amnesty again. It was called compromise and both parties working together something complete foreign to Congress now. Well unless its something that takes away our freedoms like the Patriot Act or NDAA then both parties line up to vote for it.

And that's the point that should be reinforced at every opportunity. They could have...but lets be honest, it's better to dangle the unreachable carrot, and keep people voting for the ones they "know" want to do it for them.

You do realize it was Saint Ronald Reagan who as far back as 1980 called for open borders with Mexico right?

Somehow though, Liberals forced him to say that, amirite?

Hell, I don't pretend that the Dems don't pander to illegal immigrants for votes. They do, but so do the Republicans. The Republicans are every bit as pro amnesty as the Dems, the only difference is they tell their stupid voters other wise.

    When did I say that?

    Fair enough.
