I doubt it. Why replace one kind of liberal with another?

I don't think that's a simple question at all. As I already explained. He was a populist. Which may be a term you're not familiar with. He was progressive on increasing Medicare and Social Security. Does that sound like he would be comfortable with Republicans? Obviously you think that if Wallace were to rise from the dead today, he would shamble right over and change his party registration to Republican (although as a dead person, it's much easier to vote Democratic! Bah zing!). But since you think that, why?

I think you are confusing Manhattan and Malibu liberals for true liberals. The liberal label flipped somewhere around the mid eighties and the old school liberals became Libertarians and socially liberal/fiscal conservative Republicans. John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson would puke if they saw what the Democratic party has morphed into under the progressive leadership that has took over in the mid 70's. I still like some of the local and State level Democrats but the National ones for the most part are in bed with Wallstreet more than the GOP supposedly is

Whilst wacko birds fixate on all those "Liberals!" that fester in their noggins, the answer to the question the thread poses, "Will more black people vote for Republicans this year?" is "Yes" if Republicans offer them a candidate that they prefer, or "No" if they continue not to.

So, the essential question is, "Who is the Republican nominee?"

Yeah, but the Democrats are still the lesser evil in my opinion. The republicans you mention are the minority, most republicans are borderline fascist and oppose all social programs, whereas Democrats don't have the best fiscal track record right now.

    Will more Blacks vote Republican.

Lemme see, the Republican response to the first black President was to simply declare that the entirety of their goals was going to be his unseating at the first opportunity. When this failed they still did not cease their policy of total obstructionism. Their reason for this, that Obama was black, was transparently obvious to anyone, their denials of their racism notwithstanding.

Additionally, Republicans have spent most of Obama's second term supporting the outright murder of black youth, popularized a new version of "(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)" in "thug" and made voting for all minorities more difficult. They seemed to be ending up by trying to repeal the Civil Rights act with some bizarre version of religious freedom

Oh yeah, blacks are going to vote for you in droves, I believe it.

Everyone wants some protectionism and elimination of competition. Steel producers who can't compete with superior offshore prices want tariffs on steel imports, laborers who can't compete with superior offshore labor want restrictions on immigration. They're all a bunch of parasites, avoiding competition in their quality of work by instead competing for the favor of bureaucrats and central planners.

I think you have no idea of what fascism is and are just parroting nonsense

fascism - a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Now doesn't that sound just like Obama and his executive orders along with his contempt of Congress and the Supreme court along with his punishment of any who oppose him and his forgiveness of those who break the laws for him like Holder and Lerner? Progressive Democrats are the fascist party not the GOP who want to abide by the laws and Constitution

We should be scared of Hillary winning. Who wants to see the collapse of the United States (besides Russia and China)?

You're right. He was elected. And we'll be paying the price for it long after he's gone.

Yes, that applies equally to the 42 White Guys who have been President, certainly to his predecessor whose job approval is far lower and disapproval far higher in the estimation of the American people.

I never stated otherwise, nor have I ever checked out the genetic heritage of all 43.

Obama's being widely regarded as the first Black president of the US is no more a precise, finicky categorization than is racial identity in general of course.

A rather pathetic cop out for someone as racially motivated as you.

Pointing out Obama's complete racial make-up is 'finicky'? I'm quite sure you would say the same thing if I ignored his black half. Right Obamite?

Your ad hominem reveals a churlishness of unknown origin. Did something that I said upset you? Would you be willing to share it?

You must have me confused with someone who regards the President highly. I have repeatedly characterized him as mediocre. That comports with the sentiment of the American public.

I have no idea of the President's "complete racial make-up", nor is his or any other's of particular interest to me. I know that genealogical DNA testing has become quite the fad in recent years, but, for whatever reasons, being told that Donald Trump is a direct descendant of the Curé of Ars and the Begum of Oudh just doesn't thrill me.

Mainstream republicans are jingoistic, authoritarian, and warlike. They're the party of "We should invade x middle eastern country" and of opposing gay rights. They're the party of the Moral Majority and cryptoracists. They're the party of dubbing any black man that gets in legal trouble a thug and declaring that he deserves whatever death he might meet.

You seem libertarian in your economic leanings and social leanings. You aren't the mainstream of the republican party.

I can't help you with your yapping, I'm afraid.

As I had noted, I am not privy to the President's genetic heritage, but race is a nebulous concept when attempting empirical precision.

If your reference is to his having a father generally considered to be "Black" and a mother "White" that is, indeed his parentage. (Incidentally, he was born in Hawaii.)

If I had to guess, I would speculate than none of his predecessors had as significant or proximate an ancestry that would be commonly regarded as "Black."

I hope that I've been of help to you. If the matter of Presidential genetics interests you, you might further your comprehension of it here.

I think a large part of our issues is our politicians "appeal" to groups at all. They should be passing laws that are best for the country not small groups to buy votes.

Fix your own and spare us the tap dance.

Blissfully and willfully blind to the obvious. How liberal.

If your preference is to avoid his white half for political purposes, I understand. You'll lose your DNC card otherwise.

Help yourself first. You need to decide when it is appropriate to play the color card. Looks to me like you use it when convenient and run like a scalded cat from it when it isn't. Be consistent.
