What restrictions and qualifications do you suggest?

    Please be specific.

we are reasonable. all we ask is that others leave us be. Where we differ from you is that while you bow your knee and submit to the tyrant, we find devious ways to un-fund (and then kill) the usurpers. May it always be so. What anti-gunners hate the worst about us is that the practicing with fighting guns leads to a type of THINKING that the anti-gunners LOATHE. the willingness (and ability) to stand on our own and do without the nanny-hitler state. The anti-gunners are one and all STATISTS, and they mean to RULE over us and we're just not going to allow them to do so. They know that, and they hate us for it. Tough Stuff, Adolf.

Society will determine that over time. Right now, I don't believe any one person has the data/objectivity to simply state the solutions.

In my view, all that I can do now is share the outcomes I prefer to see with those who are making policy.

We already disagree here and none of us have any perfect answers.

I don't necessarily debate this. Sometimes I'm about sharing with people what I think of things.

    Others can agree or not.

But you never offer anything. You bloviate about how things "must change" and about "restrictions and qualifications" but you can't formulate an intelligent response when asked.

    You exaggerate.

Why don't you say what you think is right and stop complaining that I or others don't say what you want said?

    Get real.

I stated a demonstrable fact. You were asked point blank to provide your "restrictions and qualifications" and dodged.

Lol, you are the one wanting to change things. What, specifically, do you want changed.

    Be specific.

One great problem (despite ANY "specifics") is people harboring the silly and unrealistic notion that the status quo is just fine.

So, while we can talk about what has been or what is, we do still need a vision for the future.

I'm no genius or expert (by any means), but I'm very certain it is bordering on insanity to think/believe there need be no further measures taken (at many levels) to mitigate the problems with crime, violence and guns we are seeing today.

So, as much as you'd like me to see things your way... I've learned by simply living life itself, that virtually any situation or related outcomes CAN be improved if there is a will to see the same come to fruition.

With that generally in mind, I realize the futility of attempting to 'convert' those who are adamantly anti-regulation. The changes I envision will come as American society evolves over time. Things will change and what to me looks like a societal-neurosis will eventually be dealt with incrementally.

I'm sure YOU don't have THE answers. If you're alive today, the answers I'm hoping and advocating for will very likely not be something you (or I) see. But that doesn't stop me from sharing the vision and general views I possess.

After all, what we have today isn't anywhere near "acceptable" in the hearts and minds of many... and that remnant of real sanity will be the 'fuel' which keeps the 'alternate' ideas alive and well.

I support the 2nd Amendment and the U.S. Constitution as a whole (and I respect the law). But NO, I do not necessarily agree with everyone's interpretation of the Constitution nor the laws which are invented/supported as a result of the same.

I'm willing to accept that you and others win some of these arguments FOR more liberal firearm laws. Still, I'm well aware that people will change/evolve in this society and so will their views of the Constitution and the meaning of what is written in it.

I hope the overall spirit remains of the America we often all romanticize/dream about (and to a large degree also experience). But trying to sell the idea that what we're doing NOW will always be appropriate for every era/age to come, is something I will always reject as being abjectly LUDICROUS.

What's wrong with the status quo?

    Explain this vision?

Something we agree on, you have no idea what you're talking about. I think it's bordering on insanity for you to constantly post in this thread after saying repeatedly that your done, yet still manage to never actually say anything.

How CAN outcomes be improved, be specific?

    What changes do you envision?

Do you often do things that are futile, don't you think that's a problem?

So you'll have the answers when you die?

    How is it not acceptable?

You support it but don't agree with it? Are you sure you're sane, I'm really starting to wonder?

Are you claiming the meaning of words will magically change?

I agree, we need fewer gun laws.

Do you deny that you said there were holes in my theory or do you need the actual post number? LOL, and you said I was confused.

proper regulations would result in far less gun laws. the craziness is the anti gunners who pretend its about crime control when we all know that is not what really motivates them. Why is it that every gun banner we see is a Liberal?

    - - - Updated - - -

so you cannot even tell us what are "reasonable regulations"

why is this? chances are you don't want to be in a position to limit yourself in the incremental crusade by the anti gun left to ban guns. reasonable is always the next step towards a ban

as I noted, the last thing an incrementalist wants to do is to be forced to take a position that he cannot change in the future when the current "reasonable" restriction has been achieved and another step towards the ban is being debated

So you say. So be it with you.

We're NOT on the right track. What we have now is simply what society will put up with... for now.

    Things WILL change.

Societies have typically changed slowly (incrementally) over time. And this nation is no different.

What people embrace and accept today (even about the 2nd Amendment), WILL take on new meaning as this society evolves. It's surely not my will that must be done, but I do see change on the horizon coming.

right now the scholarship is rectifying 80 years of dishonesty that started with the scumbag FDR administration which deliberately misrepresented the 10A, the Commerce clause and other parts of the constitution. An evolving society should move towards honesty, and if that is achieved, gun banners will be seen as traitors and dealt with as such assuming they can even achieve elected office

now getting a drivers license... that is a privilege, not a right

the 2nd Amendment makes owning a gun a right and not a privilege

    More extreme and hostile language.

With that, you're on my 'ignore' list.

    Goodbye.

    - - - Updated - - -

Okay. I'm done with this topic for now.

Let's just say, I've said what I think I needed to, for now.

My vision isn't yours, and in that I'm satisfied.

I really do hope that America gets better... all around.

you obviously have not actually paid attention

there are MORE guns in the USA now than at ANYTIME in history and the gun violence rate as well and the number of accidental shootings have GONE DOWN over the years, SO your definition of the right track either remans

    1) more gun deaths and more accidental shootings (might well be, many gun haters love hearing about massacres or children being shot so they can bash gun owners with the blood of innocents)

    2) or you are mad that anti gun legislation is failing to pass and some idiotic gun laws (like DC or Chicago) have been struck down

but if your real goal is less gun deaths and accidental shootings, things are going in the right direction and you are either ignorant of that fact or you aren't being honest about what you really want
