she has so much baggage that it will be much easier for a Repub to beat her than some fresh face. (I dunno who it'd be for dems and I dunno which repub amounts to a hoot, other than Rand Paul. I know a lot of repubs that EYE would never vote for and Bush heads that list.

You actually want our kids' education to be determined by Washington DC???

That's what comes with Common Core education program, which Jeb Bush supports.

Decisions about their education will be decided by the same people who decided on Obamacare.

That sounds like a great idea to you, huh?

    Ted Cruz.

    Scott Walker.

They will be the last two men standing for the Right.

Better than letting every inbred redneck home school their children using the Bible as Papa Paul wanted, I suspect that if Junior wants those big Papa Paul bucks he's gonna have to adopt dadda's platforms.

just his NAME and his home state are PLENTY of baggage, in the general election.

    - - - Updated - - -

than rednecks (nearly all of whom at least CARE about their kids. The State obviously does not care, at all, anywhere, ever. and just for your info, 90+% of the US population is not redneck. 75% of them are not even stupid, if they are presented with all of the facts, that is.

I agree, but good luck finding someone with whom you agree 100%.

Our education system is already so broken I've given up on it. If I had kids I would home school.

We've miles to go before we sleep.

Are you mixing up George Bush and his sons with Ron Paul and his son?

    Your post makes no sense.

    Even less so than normally..

especially for kids over the age of say, 8 years. once they can type a bit, or if they are given voice command computers, they can teach themselves a helluva lot, if some adult is present to see to it that the kids actually DO engage in educational activities, as vs facebook.:frown:

I see no problem with homeschooling as long as the children are able to meet a certain standard. If they are unable to meet said standard, then they will have to be put back in a school. But if parents can teach or put them in an online class/co-op that can teach, I say good for them. It will save public school resources for those that legitimately need them.

Besides, the numbers for homeschooling speak for themselves. Homeschooled students are, on average, leaps and bounds ahead of public school students academically. Also helps keep them from getting mixed with drugs and such. Not to mention the positive psychological effect that constant one on one time with their parents can have on the child. I can easily say that homeschooling will be a legitimate option on the table for my girlfriend and I when we finally decide to adopt, and we are neither religious nor conservative. Obviously...given our relationship. So much for that stereotype, eh?

I don't either, as long as standards are met. However, the right wing in this country want to do away with those standards, letting states like Alabama, Texas, and Florida set their own standards. We would have a nation with a large portion of the population thinking that Jesus and his deciples wrote the constitution and gave it to George Washington while riding a dinosaur.

You mean the same standards that they already use for accrediting their public and private school systems from elementary levels up through post graduate and doctoral degrees programs so that other states will accept their graduates? One has to wonder if the average leftist even TRIES to think these things through before leaping on board a politically-motivated propaganda-loaded leftist bandwagon.

So let me get this straight. Texas is controlled by the GOP and has been for decades, and yet (mysteriously) has not deep-sixed educational standards. So when do our leftists speculate that this will occur if total control of a state for decades IS NOT control enough nor lengthy enough? The first thing that leftists did when they gained total control of the California educational system decades ago, after all, was to trash their once excellent educational standards. So what makes the Texas GOPers so much more timid in that respect than California leftists if their goal was indeed to switch over to some sort of knuckle-dragging standard?

See, as you pointed out, currently states conform to standards set around the country so that a student from Arkansas can go to a college in New York and meed minimum standards set by that state. If those standards were abolished like the GOP wants, a home schooled child from Texas wouldn't have a chance of getting into a School like Harvard or Yale, because they would be improperly educated to the point where they wouldn't be able to meet standards set by Mass or Conn standards.

Ahem! Hahahahahaha! Whew! Thanks for that; and here I was taking you seriously. GOPers have never been that shy. If they wanted to trash their educational standards then they would trash them just like California leftists DID trash their state's standards long, LONG ago.

True. The "Stop Hillary" campaign has started. However, it's pretty clear through Hillary's awful Sec. of State bid that she does not deserve to lead the free world. Scary thought.

My prediction? If the right can't get a solid pick (Not Cruz, Rubio, or Paul) than I bet another Democrat will take the seat.

Her email use is the least of my worries. In fact, I don't even need to bring that up to prove how horrible she was. Her greatest accomplishment? The Arab Spring. What happened as a result? 6 Nations collapsing. To this day, are still crippled due to her.

Her job is to paint the foreign policy picture as the SOS. That was of the utmost failure.

    Not really up for debate....lol.

The "Monica! Monica! Monica!" chants when she traveled to Egypt (which she was suppose to SAVE) said it all.

    Monumental failure as SOS.

No baggage? An amnesty supporting Bush family member who identifies as "Hispanic" on his voter registration form, despite being white?

How about voting for a real conservative? Jeb is a joke.

I've said this before, but Jeb Bush is one of those Republicans that would make me vote for Hillary Clinton and I REALLY don't want to vote for her. I really think America needs a fresh face, a Republican in the White House, but not if Jebby gets the nomination.

You ruined your argument by saying "Bush family member".

He has his own politics. Yes, he and his family members agree on many things, but that doesn't make them duplicates.

Another word that ruins the argument is "dynasty". People use the word all the time, regarding both the Bushes and Clintons. Dynasties aren't generally elected. Dynasty seats are filled by virtue of being a family member, not by virtue of a citizen vote.

At any rate, I like Jeb. Yes, he has faults, but his are few compared to some.

It's still early. I've always said I would vote for Jeb. Truthfully, I reserve my vote 'til the last minute. Or not vote at all, like last time.

What a hollow, silly argument. If Jeb would cause you to vote for Hillary, you were going to vote for her all along.

You can fool some of the people some of the time..............................................blah blah blah.

Actually, Dale, I will vote for the Republican candidate unless Jeb Bush or Ted Cruz are the nominees. Right now, the Republican race is wide open. There are no clear-cut favorites in the field at this time.

If the alienated malcontents can't stop obsessively sniveling over the probable Democratic nominee and find a clean and sober Republican that the American electorate prefers, they will be facing yet another "Romney Landslide!"

It's inevitable that the Party's fat cats and Establishmentistas will again spank the wacko birds into submission. It'll be fun!
