    again, none of these movies are still banned in the USA.

    and some of those movies were only banned in tiny cities, back in the 1970s.

    This is just part of a extremist movement in Russia to ban any website, and newspaper, any films, that is critical of Russia.

    Its regressing back to Soviet ways.

    Since i turned 12 i noticed that something is weird in American movies about Russians. When Stalonne wearing shorts, topless with handmade arbalest or a bow shooting russian soldiers wearing ushankas and overcoat during the hot Afghan summer.

    Just to mention few movies of anti russian propaganda: Air Force One ( Russian nationalists seize the U.S. President's plane, Harrison Ford - the former soldier, alone destroys aggressors). Red scorpion ( Where Nikolay - russian traitor, plays a role of a monster who is willing to do anything to please his bosses from overseas). Stiletto dance (cops Keith and Jay have to get into the Russian gang which is going to blow up a nuclear bomb in the center of New York. And it means that millions of residents are doomed to death). The hunt of red october ( again about russian traitor who decided to give to USA the newest soviet submarine). Red Dawn (The Soviet-Cuban forces occupy the USA).
    An image of russians was created in American films. Russians were either bandits, or callous terminators, or fools.

    In 1994 one Hollywood film studio shot the action film "A bullet to Beijing". Movie was made in Petersburg and heroes fought against the Chechen mafia. When the movie was almost done, the Chechen war has began and the whole world just sympathized with Chechnya. It became politically inexpedient to show "bad Chechens". American censorship forbade the movie.This fact clearly demonstrates what the propaganda factor in modern show business of the USA matters.

    Distortion of the history of WWII is in trend our days. Watching American blockbuster u will find out that Nazism was destroyed not in Stalingrad or within a Kursk battle, but during the rescue of soldier Ryan. In "Stalingrad" (1994) and "The enemy at the gate" (2001) you will see how noble and civilized Germans courageously battle against the Russian savages and came out of Stalingrad battle as winners. And all Germans appeared to be anti - fascists, they simply honestly fulfilled the military duty".

    K. Lokh, the English film director, told once: "It is important that the history was written by us because the one who writes history, controls the present".

    The result is obvious: today's knowledge of World War II at the average inhabitant of the West are well illustrated by the following dialogue:

    "Do you know, how many Americans died in World War II?"
    "Oh, a lot, I would tell... Fifty thousand..."
    — And how many Russians?
    — Well I don't know... But, of course, there isn't as lot as Americans.
    — Why do you so think?
    ---Well, they joined us at the very end of the war. Isn't it? ..... Hmm i didn't know and have to check what Wiki tells about it.

    I have to say that i am against any censor, and i believe audience is able to make their own decision by watching the movie, by banning the movie they only advertised it and much more russians will watch it.

    in 2001 The Profit was banned simply for telling the truth about Scientology, no copy of the movie was allowed out. Child 44 isn't banned in Russia, its copies to be sold here.

    that's 100% false.

    and it wasn't banned by an act of Congress or act of any state legislature, is was prevented from release by a judge's court order.

    go and read up on the movie so you see it was banned in the US for telling the truth.

    this is why it let them destroy all copies of the movie; court decision is the worst outcome for anyone and anything.

    the movie The Profit had exposed Scientologists as a money making sect, which is true; but even if it wasn't true, it still amounts to an opinion and should not have been silenced like this.

    why was the release prohibited?

    edit: the injunction was ended in 2007.

    the film is no longer banned for distribution in the USA

    LOL i wonder how many Lithuanian workers left in ur state? A country of pensioners who cannot find job in Europe. All others are just like you - deserters trying to find a better life somewhere abroad -)

    Ural is great, just in the middle of my beautiful country, and i prefer europe and other parts of the world for vacations not for serving Europeans to make some money for food like you-))
