not only is MSNBC the redheaded stepchild of the cable news channels, now NBC is losing ground fast to both CBS and ABC. The Today show's advertising revenue declined 12 percent last year whilend to ABC's Good Morning America's revenue was up 4 percent and CBS This Morning was up 11 percent. Things over at MSNBC are not any better with both FOX and CNN are seeing their revenues rise while MSNBC's continue to decline. Actually the last time I checked Comcast owned both NBC and MSNBC. But I think that some other even larger company owns Comcast now. I'm not sure about that, however. Anyway considering what a money pit all these traditional (plus MSNBC) broadcast news organizations have become as they have steered ever farther leftward in ideology and news coverage slant, it's beyond stupid from a bottom line business perspective for them to continue their money losing leftward ideological march. But continue stupidly marching leftward they are all doing. Leftward and . . . down the toilet.
I don't know about the over the air networks as I haven't watched anything on them in years. But when People get off work and want the news, MSNBC just offers one political talk show after another. No real news, just partisan ramblings. Starting at 5 PM they have the Ed Show, followed by Sharpton, followed by Hardball, followed by All in, followed by Maddow and so on. No news, just political talk shows. Perhaps if they started reporting on the news by real reporters, maybe their ratings would change. Who knows.

Comcast is in the mix also. What surprised me was Vivendi who at one point owned Blizzard entertainment. Most of the gaming geeks here will recognize Blizzard but I bet few knew about Vivendi which also once owned Turbine when LoTRO was MEO. Fox is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch who is clearly a capitalist liberal. Murdoch has sided with leftists in the past- Whitlam in Australia, for example. Fox doesn't represent conservatism. It opposes high-taxation/big government because that's bad for them as a business. That isn't conservatism.
