I know what your Pavlovian response will probably be. But does a person with such an avatar have the same right to talk about things as the rest of you do?

It's some guy using the American Bellamy salute. It's Americana and Hitler copied it.

Pledge of Allegiance 1930s video (rare palms up version)

I learned that from my mother. All of the Greatest Generation remember presenting the Bellamy salute while saying the Pledge of Allegiance in school.

It's part of America's culture and as usual some German Nationalist Socialist took away are culture and claimed it for himself.

Pretty much on PF it boils down to what sort of poster a person becomes. Trying to shock via avatar selection seldom works as intended since we see all kinds here.

Your avatar comes across as if you are craving attention from a negative way.

It works on liberals and progressives. :roflol:

Remember that shootout between some bikers in Texas ? Both CNN and MSNBC noticed that some of the bikers had small patches or tattoos of swastikas and libelously claimed that these bikers including the Latino bikers as being white supremacist. :roflol:

The original 1% outlaw motorcycle clubs were founded by WW ll war vets during the late 1940's. Mostly Army vets who fought the Germans in Europe during WW ll. They adopted wearing German helmets and wearing swastikas patches, SS badges and maltese crosses. None were Nazis and none were white supremacist. They adopted these insignias for having a shock effect on people. Which it did.

During the 1970's the surfers in California adopted the maltese cross then the skate borders would adopt it so most bikers dropped wearing the maltese cross.

I'm sure eventually the PC liberals will get around calling all surfers and skate boarders racist.

So I guess some individuals or organizations will adopt an insignia, patch, tattoo or a flag for shock value but it only works on liberals, progressives and Marxist.

An avatar is defined as: "a manifestation of a deity or released soul in bodily form on earth; an incarnate divine teacher." One wonders what divination your avatar has taught you. Can you elaborate?

To me your Avatar is irrelevant as it can mean so many things....an attempt at getting a rise, a serious statement of attitude, a Joke....whatever. Once you make yourself known here....I will then decide.

Good information there. I think I knew some of it, but I can't swear to it at this point in my life. I do know that our leftists are fairly indifferent towards real history. So very many of them seem to prefer to 'roll their own' with an intermix of politics and ideology. Facts? Pffft . . . who needs facts when one has got leftist feeeeeeeeeelings!

I bet you don't actually. I have avatars turned off so had to go to your profile and my instinctive response when I checked was a distasteful joke along the lines of "... and we won't stop until the pile of Jewish bodies is this high.".

You obviously the same right to talk but your choice of avatar will impact whether people are willing to respond and the nature of their response if they do. A classic example of the difference between having the right to do something and it being a good idea to do it.

Personally, if I wanted to troll, I would have used a picture of Bin Laden, Hitler is so 70 years ago.

    Interesting fact:
During WWII, Romania was the main ally of Germany. Besides resources, Romania sent 1,5 million alongside 3,5 million germans in Barbarossa.
Although, trialled and executed for warcrimes (nasty revenge in Odessa), Antonescu is loved in Romania and considered a national hero, in contrast with Germany's Hitler.
My avatar has significance while yours OP is an attempt to troll.

Y'know, somebody could put up that picture of a lynching and caption it "Death to all (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s" and one or another rightist would come along and say, "It's just a historical picture, nothing racist here." To paraphrase your dope addled god "Symbols Mean Things" but whatever.

Your avatar tells me there's a lonely bridge somewhere, at least when your mother let's you out of the basement

What was the date of that photo you are referring too ?

My avatar has a story behind it.

Look very closely to it and what do you see ? It's a memorial to a fellow Marine who was a tunnel rat in Vietnam in 1969.

    So "Semper Fi Mac."

If you don't know the meaning of that WW ll Marine Corps phrase, you are probably one of the uninformed.

I guess she left out the part about it being the salute used by the roman empire.

Imagine an American stealing something and claiming it for himself.
