What Trump said shows nothing but that he will not be framed by the politically correct or the status quo. He is a break out giant. I like him. How can one not like the man.

The only Americans who like the kind of "guts" you're referring to are a minority among voters. Far right-wingers. Way far right-wingers. Trump has no tact and it seems as though he doesn't understand that it takes strategy and tactics to campaign in an election. As a potential candidate, focusing on your primary group is great, but if you do what Trump is doing, you ostracize yourself from essentially all other groups, especially moderates. The whole idea of a successful election campaign is to appeal to as much of the voting populace as possible. Trump is not doing that. I wouldn't call what he's doing "gutsy," I'd call it really dumb. With the comments and statements he's making, he's appealing less and less to whatever broader spectrum of voters who might have shown even the slightest interest in him at some point.

 

Yet he leads the pack in the polls.....explain dat! The liberal media, the politically correct republicans as well as the democrats want to demonize Trump..........they will not be able to get away with it............Donald Trump speaks the truth....and that will carry him through.

Trump is popular with 30% of the 30% who always vote Repuvblican. That is fine and dandy for a few polls but hardly a coalition that will win national office.

 

Obama won because the Working Class stayed home....or too many of them did anyhow. Did you and the other mainstream republicans think the working class would be motivated to go to the polls and vote for an elitist as well as a cultist....get real....the people had no real choice......hopefully this time around the republicans can present a better candidate aka trump, cruz or walker.

I dislike McCains politics but his military service is something I very much respect him for especially what he went through. Although I think Trump is a POS, his comments about McCains service just solidifies my belief that trump is a class A (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)

I agree, Trump is an anushole. As a politician, McCain is a loose cannon. However, that wasn't my intent on posting. What attracted me to this thread is the concept of "what is a hero?" My initial post dealt with the "bastardization" or overuse of the word "hero", specifically as it applies to the military. The media and general public seems to be calling everyone a hero from Caitlyn Jenner to Michael Vick. That same media started calling every last soldier as a hero, even those who enlisted for not-particularly-altruistic reasons or who haven't distinguished themselves with valorous acts.

I am not going to demean McCain's service record but there are two sides to every story. While I was researching this, I came across this article in Veterans Today entitled; Trump right about “Hanoi John McCain. Apparently the military people themselves are divided on this issue and McCain being a hero.

I would not have ever publicly stated what Trump said about McCain, even if I was angry him. That was vulgar, uncouth and highly disrespectful display of boorish and egotistical behavior. Nonetheless, is McCain a hero? My opinion is that he's not but such a statement is subjective. Others may rightfully disagree.

Trump is history as far as this Presidential election is concerned. He is toast. He is done. He is finished. I'm not a great fan of McCain, but I still respect him for his military service. Trump didn't serve at all. Voters are going to take note of that.

What do Trump's comments about McC have to do with his policies? Have they changed? McC said harsh things about Trump, Trump responded. The left is trying desperately to use this to discredit Trump when his comments are basically meaningless.

I can now think of 3 military people the left has defended; Manning, Bergdahl, and now McC. Other than that, the left typically wants to defund the military and arrest everyone in it. Buncha hypocrites if you ask me.

 

America needs to focus on policies that people will bring , not sideshow comments. And boo hoo whether or not someone agrees that mccaine is a war hero... that label gets tossed around far too easily.
