    Why SHOULD I care? If blacks in the ghetto kill each other it is not really my concern. I may deplore it, and the conditions that cause it, but I don't really CARE about it, because I'm not black and I don't live in the Ghetto. I live a fairly safe life because I follow elementary common sense and don't go into dangerous places.

    I DO go to the movies, so when nutbar gun worshippers start making them their favorite killing grounds, yeh, that bothers me

    He was in a Facebook group called I Hate Liberals and a regular talk show guest for his strong conservative views, so I would say he had a definite bias. Not saying his crime was politically motivated though. Not until we have more information, he might have just snapped.

    Considering his targets (himself and movie theater goers), I'd say there was no political motive.. At least, not of the idiotic conservative vs liberal sort.

    It has income options, special privileges and forgiveness for eccentricities others might suffer for.
    Clinical insanity is different than a hothead losing an argument with you calling you crazy. Sane people beat you up for that. Real crazies respond worse.
    I'm not afraid to go to the theater thinking that might be the day someone starts shooting.
    I'm afraid to go to the theater on a day when its mobbed by people obsessed with a long-running franchise film, or crowds big enough to include a pickpocket, groper or less-lethal but irritating person or persons.
    Therefore I take preemptive actions: going in daytime weekday to a movie that's been playing so long I might be the only one in the room.
    3 times I was the only one in the theater, twice single digits.
    That's not paranoia. it's wisdom.

    Thankfully, that analogy does not pertain to all people, just members of the political right, especially the zealots. If I had the time to do this (or was getting paid) to go through all the posts here and got $1.00 for every post that condemns blacks, muslims and lationos, purely on the basis of race or religion, by far, the biggest offenders would be the right and I could throw a big party with that money. Conversely, when it comes to horrendous crimes, you will find those same people letting the perp off the hook, especially if he is white, christian and a conservative.

    I'm not sure it's mental illness, guy was a member of another board i'm on and he praised Hitler. Sounds like a mix of crazy and evil to me.

    Given his age, it brings up a question I've at least wondered about, if not spoken about before. How can a person lead a peaceful existence for 4, 5, 6 decades and then one day just decide "(*)(*)(*)(*) it, I'm gonna go waste some mother(*)(*)(*)(*)ers, and I don't much care who?".

    Seems odd to me.

    Yeah, we're getting hit very hard. One of us is working on upgrading the server right now, while I post. Not sure how long the server upgrade will take, but we want to make sure that everything he posted is publicly available to anyone reading the news stories and wanting to see what he was posting. May be a little downtime associated with it when the upgrade actually kicks in, but we'll try to keep it as brief as possible, and the end result will be that all members as well as guests have ready access. We'll post more as we know more. We feel we need to be an open book on this.

    Apparently he wasn't all that non-violent. His own family put out protective orders against him for domestic violence. Had him committed as well.

    Isn't it always? Most people I know who went crazy started out being just (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s. Now maybe that was the crazy or maybe being an (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) drives you nuts too
