OK----------------IMO all the operaters of coal fired power plants should shut them down for a week to educate people just how damned stupid Obama really is. Most of them are on the east coast with all the ignorant liberals that supported Obama.

Let the fools sweat in the dark, and maybe they will come to their senses.

Obama has been shutting down coal-fired power plants practically as soon
as he occupied our White House. This Corrupted MSM does not report it.
Just like the way this MSM refused to write or report on the CASUALTY COUNT.
When not a week went by in all of President Bush's 2nd term when the
same Casualty Count was reported ad nauseaum in big headlines.
Back in March of 2012 it was learned that Obama's EPA had managed
with ballbusting new rules and regulations to close more than 140 Electric generating units
    in 19 states.

IMHO, libs and Obama are the least of coal's problems. Natural gas is cheap enough now that it is harming the coal industry.

Warren Buffett owns some, and his railroad makes a lot of money shipping coal. This is just noise as usual, and neither he nor the Party will actually do anything about it, much like Republicans will run around making big huge noises about criminal illegal immigration as they have for a couple of decades now but will do absolutely nothing about that, not as long as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports it.

What your thread title should have read is: OBAMA WANTS EVERYONE TO PAY A LOT MORE FOR ELECTRICITY. I do not know how much that would be, 50 dollars a month more, a 100? There is no doubt the cost of electricity would rise and rise big time. Apparently Obama does not care about the poor or the middle class. Only his global warming political agenda.

Oh great I was wondering how long before Obama unveiled his newly discovered source of energy to the world. This is the same guy handing out nukes people.

Anyone with half a brain EVENTUALLY wants all coal powered energy plants closed. Coal is an inefficient and unhealthy way to generate energy. Just Google air quality in China. Coal is a limited resource, hence, a poor long term solution. I've got (or should say had) two
relatives in the mining industry - both died early from lung problems.

Now how quickly those plants can be shut is open to debate - but the fact that they have to go in the long run isn't.

Your point is well taken. If Obama gets his way, electricity will cost a great deal more. How are democrats and the idiot Obama going to justify that to the poor they claim to look out for???

Yea, Coal is inefficient. That's why 2/3 of all electric power generated in the U.S. is by Coal. As for being a limited resource, the U.S. has more than 250 years of reserves with the CURRENT mining technology. If you look at the Oil and Natural Gas industries and fracking, there will probably be some new mining technology that will make even more available.

How about we find a way to use the resources we have more cleanly?

Come on people just how damned stupid can Obama be??? He wants to shut down coal fired power plants WITHOUT having replacement generating systems on line to replace them. Setting in the dark and shutting down the economy is NOT an option.

    It goes in lockstep with Cloward/Piven and ObamaCare { meant to drag down the middle class}
also our National Debt which Obama has nearly doubled since taking office.
I'm not talking going from $ 5 Trillion to $ 10 Trillion but from
$ 10.5 Trillion to almost 20 Trillion and he's still got a year and a half left.

The environmentalist can donate more money to the Democrats than the poor. Its a no brainer. Make the poor pay more for electricity and collect more money from the greenies.

We already passed 18 trillion, it is a sure bet we will pass 20.
