http://time.com/3987552/dea-marijuana-heroin/ Nobody said safer. He said "not so dangerous". Pay attention to meaning of the words. pot is also not so dangerous as guns and the Allende meteorite.
There is no hard evidence relating marijuana to addiction. There is plenty of documentation relating heroin, pharmaceuticals, street meth, tobacco and alcohol to addiction.
Pot has been legal in Colorado for a while now. We have not seen any adverse effects. We have seen a reduction in violent crime and additional tax revenue. Draw your own conclusions.
It's a sad state of affairs when saying "marijuana is less harmful than heroin" is considered to be a controversial statement by some. I will say this though, if you truly think marijuana prohibition works, please don't smoke any of it, because you obviously can't afford to lose any more brain cells. Instead, do your patriotic duty and get drunk, because alcohol has never killed anyone. But what does a brain dead pot smoker like me know anyway? Guess I'm gonna go smoke a joint and write a computer program now.
Not so dangerous = Safer. That the DEA is just figuring this out is why the leaders of that organization should all be fired.
Eventually it will be recognised that all substances have an effect on humans and those of us who wish to take them need to know the health issues involved. So we need education from an early age on: Alcohol Tobacco Opiates Cannabis Amphetamines and related substances Sugar Starch Fats Aspirin etc. What we don't want is people thrown into prison for ingesting too much fat and sugar.
So many pharmaceuticals sitting in people's homes covered by a prescription are equally as dangerous as heroin with plenty of "respected" people strung out.
Right and as for potential physical harm pot doesn't hold a candle to some readily available OTCs like acetaminophen.
APAP will kill you, but you have to take a packet. That's sort of difficult to do accidentally. I have noticed no pain relief whatsoever from it. It's a completely useless product. I insist on ~200mg codeine instead. It actually works, go figure.
Jokes aside, I don't want kids smoking that because it will (*)(*)(*)(*) up their education/goals and social life, but at a certain age it should be legal as alcohol and even recommended to certain ppl.
I'm unsure what the point is here. I'd say pot was probably safer/no so dangerous as alcohol. But I still drink (heh, or does that prove the point?)
