    1. Pass a bill to repeal the Patriot Act and NSA spying on domestic internet traffic without a warrant.
    2. Overhaul immigration--1) Get rid of the quota system by country. 2) Allow twice as many legal immigrants. 3) Deport legal immigrants without a job after 1 year. This can be extended as long as no public assistance is requested or given to them.
    3. Eliminate any government program not specifically authorized by Article I, Section 8. If public uproar wants the government to have more power, it should be specifically mentioned in a constitutional amendment.
    4. Eliminate corporate income tax for profits made abroad.

Just FYI, bolt action rifles were designed for the battlefield. The great majority of current bolt action rifles are derivations of the Mauser bolt action rifle, which the German Army used in both World Wars.

What's a 5.62 pistol? I'm a gun nut, and have never heard of one. This, IMHO, is why people with zero knowledge of guns are usually for gun control. You simply don't know better. f

I agree with number 4, but only profits made on goods and services not involving the US market. US businesses which produce and sell goods overseas would not pay federal taxes on that income, but any businesses which outsource jobs and import those goods back to the US would be taxes at no less than 50%.

As for immigrants having to work, there is no guarantee that they could find work. I believe it would be better to do it like unemloyment and require them to actively look for work, and set a minimum pay that they must accept. Also there would need to be an exemption for students who attend school full time, since they will most likely not have time to work.

I like the topic too. It is interesting, though, to see that despite the politician bashing, very few even contribute to this thread, meaning that they don;t have any ideas on their own, all they can do is bash. Second, from those that did respond, many ideas are just wacko. This is why I like your's they are reasonable.

Here are mine (probably also seem whacko to some):

    1) Raise the capital gains tax rate to match income tax rates.
    2) Eliminate the SS maximum wage limit.
    3) Create a new tax on high-frequency trading gains.
    4) Instate the public option for the ACA.
    5) Significantly decrease funding for "defense" (would have to think about the detailed amount, maybe around 20% at first guess?).
    6) Establish research exchange and student exchange programs with Iran and other countries supposedly "hostile" to us.
    7) Eliminate all subsidies for fossil fuel based energy.
    8) Fund more alternative energy research, including a new pilot program on "fast breeder" nuclear technology.
    9) Bring gasoline tax to European levels.
    10) Instate tuition cap for public universities.

    1. decriminalize (but not necessarily legalize) marijuana, end war on drugs, leave criminal penalties for bigger fish, not small time drug users
    2. build The Wall on southern border, implement citizen ID card, deport illegals
    3. abolish birthright citizenship
    4. increase funding for NASA, order them to build a manned base on the moon
    5. push for advanced encryption of most internet traffic so that the likes of NSA lose their spying abilities
    6. ban affirmative action for all entities receiving public money
    7. strict regulation of capital punishment procedure to reduce chances of botched executions
    8. federal near-age exception for age of consent laws of at least 4 years
    9. decriminalize all obscenity related offenses
    10. expand nuclear power

Way to go to toot your own horn.

On close analysis, however, your list consists mostly of outcomes of policies, not policies themselves.

For example No. 4: "Grow the U.S. economy by 50% before I leave office. (5.2% a year). (MOST vital)"

I counter with: Okay, I'll grow the economy by 7% per year.

Unless you tell us HOW (the policies) you are going to grow the economy by 5.2% a year, your statement is useless. In fact, looking at some of your other points, advocating for deflation and EXTREME cutback in government spending, I'd be surprised if you saw any growth if not negative growth.

Then you probably won't mind to tell us what those policies are to magically grow the economy by 5.2% per year?

These are my answers to Dayton3's above post:

    A) Freeze and rollback of regulations (except for emergencies) -- I expected that.
    B) Vast tax code broadening and simplification-including Social Security -- hard to see without specifics.
    C) Government/industry partnership on things like refinery building & nuclear power plant construction -- I could get on board with that.
    D) Emphasize a strong dollar-possibly higher interest rates. -- How?? The interest rate is controlled by the Fed chairman, not the president.
    E) Push free trade in targeted areas using reciprocal trade agreements. -- Isn't the TPP and NAFTA already enough free trade, with the effect of jobs being traded oversees?
    F) Strong federal investment into research & development -- I strongly agree with that, but good luck getting conservatives to spend more on anything, or you get the answer "Solyndra"
    G) Heavily promote trade with African nations. -- And scientific and student exchange, I may add
    H) Promote dramatic growth in domestic fossil fuels production -- Good luck with that. With the current oil price, the companies are scrambling to curtail domestic production -- because it is too expensive. That is, however, not a surprise given the low EROI of shale and tar sand oil.

Technically almost NONE of this is controlled by the president but on everything from interest rates to government investment, the wishes of a president if he is willing to lobby and use powers of persuasion on Congress and various government agencies he can get things changed.

In regards to "B"- tax code broadening, I was thinking mainly about payroll deductions for Social Security. Apply it to ALL income. Whether someone is earning 10,000 dollars a year or one billion dollars a year. At the same done drastically reduce the overall tax rate. So that lower and middle income people end up paying a lot less in payroll deductions while of course higher wage earners end up paying far, far more. Overall goal is to make it pretty much revenue neutral.

In short, this is basically a flat tax regarding payroll deductions.

Also, gradual raising of retirement age. Everyone 55-65 retires at 65. 47-54 has their retirement age go up to 66. 39-46 has their retirement age go up to 67, on up till someone in their 20s has their retirement age go up to 70.

That way no one has a sudden jump in retirement age. The oldest a person that has a retirement age go up is a person who is already 54 so they have a dozen years to prepare for an extra year.

    1. Election reform. Only individuals may contribute to a political campaign, and they can donate only to candidates that they can actually vote for. No corporate money, no union money, no PAC's no interest groups.

    2. remove the $118,000 cap on Social Security taxes.

    3. Make the Income tax more progressive, higher rates on higher incomes.

    4. raise the minimum wage to $13 per hour and index it to inflation.

    5. end tax breaks for companies that move jobs offshore.

    5. Non-partisan state commissions to create congressional and local election districts, no one who has run for office to be allowed on these commissions.

    6. Prohibit employers from replacing U.S. citizens with H 1b visa holders. Require employers to prove that they cannot get U.S. workers with the right skills at prevailing wages before they are allowed to use H 1b employees.

    7. set tariffs on imports from a country at the highest tariff rate that country puts on their imports from our country. If China has a 200% tariff on Auto imports from the U.S. all products imported from China will have a 200% tariff placed on them.

    8. impose a financial transaction tax on all stock, bond, hedge fund, etc. to discourage traders using market churn to enhance their income stream at the expense of their investors.

    9. tax capital gains as regular income, with one exception, the gains from stocks, bonds etc. held for more than 10 years can be taxed at a lower rate.

    10. eliminate the carried interest loophole.

    11. make members of the boards of companies criminally and civilly libel for any illegal practices of the management.

    12. end the privatization of prisons. They always cost more, and they are less secure with their personnel much more poorly trained than those of prisons managed by the States.

    13. Repeal the Patriot Act, and NSA, FBI, etc. collection of phone records and other electronic data streams (credit cards, etc.) without a warrant issued by a Judge.

    Important questions:

Is your goal one term, two terms or impeachment?

Are you seeking to damage your party or maintain its overall credibility?

A lot of consequences come with any/every action... when you're President.

top of the list, address foreign outsourcing and foreign imports......

then universal Healthcare, flat fair tax, end prohibition, public colleges.... outlaw any tax that is over 50% of the cost of a product

change the pledge back to unite all Americans by removing "Under God", the Pledge should apply to all Americans, not just those that believe in a God
