What a pathetic publicity stunt. To have people want to assassinate you means you are a threat to someone, or very important and effective. Ben Carson is none of these. Why would anyone bother to assassinate him? He is a in-way-over-his-head presidential candidate that only a moron would support. Not even worth the thought of assassination. I call BS.

I'm sure Carlson will see that his bud at Daily Baller get in on the act, and I'm sure a few other right trash blogs will parrot it as well. Fox Noise may promote the story by citing "reports by" various unreliable and unvetted sources, as they frequently do.

Then, the Secret Service will issue the denial, which will set off a new round of right wing chest pounding about how liberals hate a black conservative, even one who is so clearly unqualified for the office he's making a show of running for.

Carson is polling about 21% of Republican voters now. That is a healthy number, but hardly overwhelming considering it is just a fraction of the party that lost the last two presidential elections.

The skinheads, survivalists or just plain radical right wing nutters in this country are most definitely NOT Carson supporters, and for the same reason they despise Obama - they're both black. I am not at all surprised Carson needs SS protection, also hope and pray nothing happens to him while he's still in the race.

Ben Carson and his family received assistance while he was growing up. That assistance he received did NOT keep him on assistance, but it did help feed him while we went to school, and it enabled him to learn. Of course it's just as important to feed the body as it is to feed the mind. In an effort to be even more clear, you cannot feed the mind without feeding the body.

This news source is a pile of garbage. It's all speculation. Newsmax might as well have said, they heard it from a friend of a friend. At least they admit these are uncorroborated claims. Note, The FBI has not offered such an assessment publicly, all this information is from a friend of a friend. This source of theirs is someone close to Washington, which means that the source may live in the surrounding zip code.

If I were Ben Carson, I'd be more concerned over some lone, gun-toting nutcase, like the Oregon shooter, who identified as a conservative/Republican. After all, we have had 3 recent mass shootings since June, who identified themselves as far right wing nutters, including the Oregon shooter.

In fact, deadly acts of terrorism by virulent racists and anti-government extremists have been more common in the United States than deadly acts of jihadist terrorism since 9/11.

Well, just look at this forum with all the "taxation is theft" threads. Wouldn't it be easy to reach the conclusion that our conservatives friends want to strip government? Or is the dismantling only for things they don't like, like welfare, social security, the EPA, DOE etc. Maybe paying taxes to protect candidates is alright?

When it is applied to you, then stereotyping seems ridiculous. However, many here have no problem labeling Bernie a communist when he is far from one.
