Dude I don't care what your economic system is men who chase power are always more dangerous than those who chase money and far easier to corrupt.

Basically there are only 2 economic systems. There is the tribal system from which man evolved, in which everyone within a tribe is entitled to whatever any member of the tribe has in order to ensure the survival of the tribe.
Then there is a system of private ownership of labor and property in which people must trade the fruits of their labor with others to ensure survival.
It would be nice to think we have evolved to be able to flourish in a system of freedom and individual choice, but the socialists prove that we have not.

Money and power are twin brothers. Today capitalists have imperial powers just because they have huge sums of money. With their money they can buy anything, their presidents through funding election campaigning, they can as I have previously said cause wars that kill innocent people and change their countries' foreign policies. Is not this power? They can do anything. They can reduce their tax through their specific representatives in parliament. Then tell me dude are these capitalists are less powerful than any other powerful presidents in communist countries. You are under an impression that Lenin, Stalin, Mao are powerful and they destroyed their countries. This is what you have learned from what you have been informed from some of the newspapers that are the mouthpieces of the American Government. Communism is not bad as you think and capitalism is not good as you advocate. China did far better under communist rule than it could under capitalism. Singapore had a socialist government that resembles communism. Even South Korea had once it. America is prosperous not because it has the capitalistic economy but because it has great and efficient human resources from different countries and it is a very spacious and fertile land. China under communism is better than America under capitalism. In America a few rich people are powerful but the majority or the average American is not doing well. If you without a preoccupied mind read Russian History it did better under communist rule than it did under czarist rule.

This is one-sided logic. Maybe from the American lens. When a country thrives there are other factors. Resources, fertility of land, human resources and cultural attributes. China had few but it did better than America did in the last few decades. It is not capitalism that works. Look at some of the economies in Europe. Spain, Greece, Turkey under capitalism are doing worse. America has so many advantages over other countries.
We have to read the other side of history that tells a different story. Capitalism trigger wars and there are historical documents to approve of this fact.

To understand the real political history of the world we have to study study independently.

Not really no. Compared to Stalin Nicholas was an enlightened despot and he was a bit of an ineffectual jerkoff. Money and power are not twin brothers save in the hands of those who seek power. All that power Bill Gates supposedly had didn't prevent the Clinton Administration from going after him on a bogus anti trust charge nor did money keep WAMU afloat. Corporate dudes are little more than slaves to the government today. You don't chip in they'll cheerfully nuke your business themselves or they'll stand around with their hands in their pockets and let someone else do it. The average American isn't doing well almost entirely because a large complex bifurcated bureaucracy of the sort we have here all but precludes the possibility of a vibrant fully functioning middle class.

America has been producing products the world wants for centuries. That's why our currency remains strong.

Guess we'll crash and burn. The end is near.
That was sarcasm, of course...but suppose the US ceased to exist tomorrow...How would that impact you?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the idea of capitalism. It is the human that corrupts it. Capitalism promotes freedom, the idea that if a person works hard he can gain much prosperity, it is the person that defiles this. Any person can be a dishwasher. However it is up to the dishwasher to decide if that is all they want to do. While at the same time if a business owner profits 2 million annually and only pays his or her employees minimum wage, than that is on the business owner, because it don't matter what job title you have if you worked for this person, and helped grow the company, the owner should look at you as part of the company and pay more. If he or she does not, than that is called greed. Nothing to do with capitalism.

I couldn’t agree with you more, and I have enough “true” stories from my working life to back up everything your saying.

I work at a major US based Aerospace Manufacturer that makes both military & commercial aircraft and I can proof-positive tell you that it’s all corporate welfare.

We get multi-year eight contracts from the government and our politicians rally for those contracts for the working class so that of course they will continue to get their support & votes whether the military or the US tax payer needs those aircraft or not.

Let me tell you something…………………………………we do not!!!!

My job is to basically fly all around the globe performing special process audits on our suppliers that either make parts for us or perform special processes on our parts.

I also review potential new suppliers both here at home & abroad and the rate of outsourcing & turning on suppliers in places like: China, Vietnam, Poland, and India have increased exponentially right alongside the billion dollar profits that my company makes every year.

In other words, the more money we make, the more we outsource and lay US workers off.

Now I know in the conservative world that’s a lie because of course rich people really don't have offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands or Sweden, and they love to hire more US workers as profits rise. (excuse me while I throw up)

This lie that republicans feed to their base is the greatest lie ever invented, and I really wish people would wake the f#@k up already because nothing could be further from the truth.

Capitalism has not only hurt this country but its toxic tentacles have also harmed other economies all around the world because of other nation’s obsession with following our ridiculous lead on this.

The bottom line is: Americans are the most self-indulged, self-diluted, unplugged, miss-informed lot of people in the world, and their incessant need for bigger flat screen TV’s and providing their “toddlers” with $600.00 smart phones is killing all of us.

Great post, but sadly in this conservative heavy forum it will mostly fall on deaf ears……

Capitalism sounds good on paper, but it just doesn't work because of human nature.

Actually it works as long as the law allows people to do whatever they wish with their bodies and property but not with other people's bodies or property. All other systems involve one person doing stuff to others' bodies and/or property against their will.

    - - - Updated - - -

Compared to systems that rely ultimately on the initiation of violence against you or your property.

How can anyone be said to be free from violence when they have no choice but to give up the value of their labour to the bourgeoisie?

    - - - Updated - - -

Appropriating wealth produced by the exploitation of the working class to pay for public projects is just.

They can be said to be free from violence if nobody is initiating violence against them or their property.

And you don't have to give up the value of your labor to anyone. Start your own business and capture all the value of your labor for yourself.

With Bernie Sanders advocating socialism in America, and Hillary Clinton saying she “loves Denmark,” how do the people who actually live under socialism feel about their life?

LOL! Dude, human nature is anarcho-capitalist by default when there is no society in place. That's what evolution is.

That was the point. To get you to pose a viable alternative. Which you haven't done. Socialism is not viable. In fact, no part of Marxism is viable. Because its very essence conflicts with human nature. The essence of the human race is to be free. And the essence of Marxism is to suppress and control. Because Marxism holds up equality as the highest virtue. Instead of freedom. And equality is not a naturally occurring phenomenon. It appears nowhere in nature. Therefore the only way to create it is to restrict freedom. This is why Marxism always fails. Because it goes completely against the most fundamental human drive to be free.

It does if you're trying to replace a system. If you're not actually working toward something concrete then all you're doing is destroying something else. You're not actually building anything better.

This is called nihilism, by the way.

?????? Thats because you dwell in your own alternate reality. One only needs to look at all the most economically successful economies in the world and see that they are all capitalist, and compare them to all the nations who have identified as socialist, and their dismal economies, to see that capitalism works very well indeed.

Socialist workers require that the government seize by force under threat of violence, from the bourgeoisie the means of production, and give it to them.

lol, the "right to a living wage", whatever. You have the opportunity to go out and earn millions, or billions of dollars, but you don't have a "right" to any kind of wage.

Seems to exemplify the difference between people who like to work for their living and people who like to be given the things they need or want by the government.

    smh.

It's natural and healthy to compete. There are several places you could move to right now that aspire to the same frame of mind that you do and are ready to provide you with everything they think you need.

Of course none of them are as nice as the U.S.A., so..... you're welcome?

I would argue that the most successful states and periods of technological advancement in human history happened because of time. Whether in philosophy, mathematics, construction or anything it is made by people with lots of free time. The Greeks and Romans had slaves to work for them while they could pursue other activities. The less time needed on sustaining your existence the more time you can use on educating yourself and discovery.
Ergo the more free time state and society can give it's citizens the better.

The free exercise in commercial activities should not and is not questioned by anyone. But with the rising automation of production and the general explosion in human wealth it will be necessary to rethink our societies.
States actually giving people money for a basic living free of misery will be possible and necessary because of lack of jobs.

Does anyone really believe that the current system of employment society can be maintained? The Golden Age of the 50's and 60's are gone never to return. Unemployment rates of 1-3% is never happening again with the technological advancements our societies experience. So we will need to rethink the system. Scandinavian countries already have in many ways with government employees numbering at almost 30%.

Oh whatever, I can see you want to play like a sack of potatoes and go all dead weight while I have to carry you through each and every part of the conversation like some 3 year old child who doesn't want to go when it's time to go, so no thanks. You know what I'm saying as well as I do and to pretend otherwise is simply deceitful.
