I've never tried to cap anyone's salary. You really need to stop judging people based on your own prejudices about who you think they are. It just doesn't make you sound very intelligent.

Do you think salaries should be capped? Its a yes or no. Ill judge who you are when you answer or refuse to answer. I judge intelligence as well.

Well, it gives sacred land back to the people who consider it sacred.

He's also thinking about buying pirate ships for poor Somalis.

What exactly is sacred land? A stone age culture does not define the narrative of civilization.

The land where the massacre took place, which is part of the land up for sale.

But it does get to define the narrative of its own culture, and they feel the land is sacred.

What a load. It was a stone age culture based upon seasonal warfare with no written language of any means and where women were not much more than slaves. A string of good horses was worth more than a woman. BTW they didn't even bring their own horses, we did.

It's much more likely it's rare because most folks haven't the slightest clue where all the bluster, fantasy, and foolishness you're always trying to pass as truth even comes from or in what context it should be taken. I doubt many folks, other than some other folks with the same white victim mentality you display, really bother trying to decipher all your cryptic nonsense, although your devotion to the creation and maintenance of your own personal narrative about progressives and liberals is somewhat admirable for it's tenacity and persistence. I often wonder what you get out of it, or if you ever get bored typing the same nonsensical things over and over, but I try to remember that people find comfort in a variety, no, a diverse, amount of ways.

In any case, I would hope your constant sob story about progressives and liberals doesn't eat up as much of your offline time as it does your online time.

This somehow proves that the land is not really sacred to them?

And where do the claims of "sacred" lands end? It doesn't. What does that really mean? Worship of a culture where life was short, brutish and violent is somehow important? They weren't going to land on the moon anytime soon. The culture that eclipsed them did in less than a century.

I don't understand what you're so angry about. One guy wants to sell his land, and the Sioux would like to buy it but feel the asking price is too high. Depp has offered to purchase it and give it to them. It's not even public land. It's privately owned.

    Get an education...

    Native American Women
    http://www.indians.org/articles/native-american-women.html

In fact, while attending a lecture given by Sitting Bull's great great grandson, I learned that if a Lakota Sioux woman was not pleased with her husband, all she had to do was leave his possessions outside the teepee and he was not allowed to enter or return. Yes, she divorced him at her discretion and he had to abide by her wishes.

Angry? I asked what this was supposed to accomplish. Another useless gesture to a group of people that civilization has left behind. American Indians do fine.... if they leave the rez and assimilate. It they stay tribal, it only cements their ties to the stone age and the social pathologies that follow.

Please, it didn't stop them from being traded like and for horses. More history revisionism. BTW homicide was off the scales for American Indians back then. Guess what? It still is.

You have no clue and should be embarrassed to be so open about it. You clearly are commending from zero expertise or academia on the subject.

Really? Ya think so? How about Nine Years among the Indians by Herman Lehmann, a first hand account of what it was like to be a captive of Plains Indians. Once again, nothing like proving a liberal wrong. Besides, it's fairly easy.

You do realize that there were hundreds of tribes...don't you? The OP is referencing the Lakota Sioux and I also referred to them in my posts. You painted with a broad brush, streotyped and negated facts.

I can't help but wonder what he thinks about Israel and Palestine. Since most people who look down on white Europeans for taking the Indians' land also defend the Arabs who stole the Jews' land. Proving that it's not really about opposing imperialism or giving anyone's homeland back but merely about viewing brown people as good guys and white people as bad guys.

    It's just plain old racism.

No, you accused me of not having any knowledge on the subject and unlike you I have quite a lot including living and working in places where there is a high percentage of American Indians. I proved you wrong. Plains Indians pretty much operated the same way, just different variations on a theme. Apaches are a bit different and technically were not Plains Indians, that is after the Commanches drove them out of the high plains and Central Texas.

Actually, I just learned the according to the Torah, which I will assume the Jews of Israel subscribe to, God did not assign them a state and in fact, on the contrary...

...but that is a subject on another thread.

Johnny Depp is free to spend his money however he chooses and this choice is a cool one.

You did not prove anything other than your limited knowledge on the subject and your choice to ignore the reverence that was widely held for the women in their respective tribes. Every society has their lesser evolved beings, but as a rule, women and their powerful roles were revered within their tribes. The men even acknowledged menstruation as something to be regarded with respect.

Limited knowledge? Laughable. The myth of the noble savage was just that, a myth. I live in what's was called the old west and know the history. Two famous Indian fights happened not far from where I live. The only one out of their league in terms of knowledge on this topic is you.

very true. The Sioux were once Woodland indians until the Chippawa came in and drove them out of their lands and into the plains. No one seems concerned about that....

You missed the point. The Jews were there first. The Arabs conquered them, enslaved them, and ruled over them for 1400 years. Thus the Jews getting Israel back after World War II was the equivalent of what Johnny Depp is doing here by trying to give the Indians back their homeland that someone took from them.
