    -Overthrow of Saddam: HUGE mistake.

    -Overthrow of Ghaddafi: HUGE mistake.

    -Supporting Syrian rebels: HUGE mistake.

    who next will we overthrow?

how long before we learn our lessons?

its time to correct our mistakes, and we can start by pulling all support from Syrian rebels, and hold peace talks in Syria that include Assad and call for an end to the civil war and allow an election that decides by the People of Syria, if Assad stays the leader.

next, we should allow Iran to take control of the Shia areas of Iraq, allow Kurdistan to have independence, and set up a Jordanian/Saudi/Syrian ruled area for the Sunnis.

What appears to be mistakes to people of reason are, in fact, great opportunities for America's most wealthy to reap immense profits. There is no loss of life so high that is worth preventing when the potential for profit exists. Why else would Western leaders make the same mistakes over and over.

The error made by Bush Sr. was waging the Gulf War for such a short period of time That war cost only $61 billion. A pittance hardly worth the effort.

Now, the Bush/Cheney administration knows how to spend money to make their already super-rich cronies super-richer. The troops killed, injured, maimed, and disfigured are insignificant compared to the hundreds-of-billions of dollars that were funneled into the pockets of the U.S. fat cats.

This is why the Congressional Republicans are desperate to kill the Iran Nuclear deal. They know when the GOP regains the White House in 2016, trillions more dollars will be made available to the war profiteers. Right-wingers never question when their Republican heroes squander money on wars-of-choice. They are convinced the U.S. is under attack from all sides, and the GOP depends on the conservatives' and neoconservatives' paranoia to keep them oblivious to reality.

Those "mistakes" listed in the OP are a record of profitable ventures made possible by the corruption that exists in our government.

Peace; never war. America did not learn its lesson from Vietnam.

How do you have peace with those who are at war with you?

I would like for the USA to get out of the regime changing business. It often just creates more problems than it solves.

The lesson from Vietnam was learned very well. There is much money to be made on war. Just be certain that other people do the dying.

The following link lists the Republicans who avoided serving during the Vietnam era. They firmly believed in letting the other guys do the dying.

"Americans live in freedom because of our veterans' courage, dedication to duty, and love of country. On Veterans Day, we honor these brave men and women who have served in our Armed Forces and defended our Nation. Across America, there are more than 25 million veterans. Their ranks include generations of citizens who have risked their lives while serving in military conflicts... They have fought for the security of our country and the peace of the world. "
