PM Turnbull has lifted the Liberals blanket ban on windmills so long as they include innovative new technology, such as having no blades! Liberal sources say their new mandate was studiously crafted to ensure it did not break any promises to anti-wind crossbenchers such as John Madigan and David Leyonhjelm, who believe "infrasound" from wind turbine blades can cause health problems for nearby residents.
Maybe it does cause health troubles. People don't pack up and leave their homes over an eyesore. I tend to believe people when it's obvious they are telling the truth. Not that Turnbull cares about them of course.
There are cases overseas where people move on, if they are surrounded by too many windmills. I follow this out of pure interest. It think planning is important, not only to distance, but also to seize. I love to have one in my backyard, waiting for them do become a little bit cheaper. Too many things to look after right now. But I am happy that under Turnbull the dark ages appear to have come to an end. Regards
Maybe the people who shifted moved near an open cut mine, or a coal fired power station, or a nuclear reactor, good on them, hope their houses fetched a good price.
LRL, people have rights, one would be that windmills (the really large ones) are erected in areas, where the population is very little. Yes, no one would want to live close to a coal mine/coal power station, or nuc plant. The same applies for windmills, if build to close to settlements. regards
Some turnips don't understand, that when politicians and the media tell you there is nothing to worry about, and nothing is wrong, that's the time to start worrying. Apparently, these wind turbines have been causing hearing problems and ear problems for residents for decades, and no one has wanted to address the problems, especially the Greens party.
They lose money on the house sale too. The loopies don't get it that most people won't upheave their lives for politics. To them, these people are probably disgruntled rednecks.
I think you have hit the nail-on-the-head for most people with an a open mind, or at least for those people with an IQ above 60, when you say people "always lose money" on the sale of houses and property near wind generators; that there is more to the story than just losing money over aesthetics or rednecks complaining over nothing. If wind generators were perfectly healthy and safe like the bureaucrats claim; then does property valuations always decline? I remember not long ago when politicians and scientists hired by politicians told everyone that living under power lines was perfectly safe also, but it turned out not to be correct. Just maybe these wind generators ARE causing hearing damage, and the bureaucrats (especially the Greens) don't want to admit it, because it will demonstrate another flawed ECO policy just like the ECO light bulbs.
I dont think the wind generator in itself is causing the loss of price. I just heard some people got less than they could because they had to leave. It was bothering them that much.
I'm not sure whether you are or the people involved are referring financial loss due to compulsory accumulation of land, or because they left due to other reasons. But either way, it would have been due to the wind generators, because there is no other explanation why people get less for their land and property with wind generators on it, over others with similar land, who don't have wind generators.
