Truly, the end of an era. Whole story here. https://www.yahoo.com/news/former-u-first-lady-nancy-reagan-dead-94-165050570.html Nancy Reagan, the former actress who was fiercely protective of husband Ronald Reagan through a Hollywood career, eight years in the White House, an assassination attempt and her husband's Alzheimer's disease, died on Sunday at age 94, the Reagan library said.
The internal strife in the GOP sapped her will to live. Blame it on Trump. RIP Nancy. Just say NO! *uber-lame, played-out, Diff'rent Strokes meme*
I think she had honest and decent intentions but the war on drugs was costly, and only created more crime, full prisons and expense.
Why not leave the negatives to the haters ..such as the Obama haters who soil their underwear venting schidt at the current FLOTUS. nancy Reagan was from another era being about my Mom's age their thinking was different.
But her ammunition for that war was to "just say no". Isn't that what she was criticized for ? All FL's have wrong direction such as Michelle who actually thinks that school kids want to eat healthy. You just have to laugh some things off.
I didn't like the former actress Nancy Davis (Reagan) political positions anymore than Ronald, but she was a loyal wife and decent person. RIP Nancy...
Wow i bet we are still paying for her lavish spending she did while her and her deplorable husband wrecked this country . Grade b movie actors both of them. Atleast we finnally have the Reagan off the government tit.
It's interesting how "First Lady" became an important "office" … I think of Eleanor Roosevelt, whose active public life was in some ways not really a part of FDR's presidency, but was very well known … Jackie Kennedy became famous for her work on restoring some of the historic furnishings and decor of the White House, and Lady Bird Johnson had her "Beautify America" projects … Betty Ford was best known for her work on promoting treatment for addicts … and so on ...
Picking up the theme of "office" of First Lady … Rosalyn Carter served off and on as an unofficial emissary of The President, especially to Latin America, and worked with Lady Bird Johnson and Betty Ford on pushing for passage of the Equal Rights Amendment … Barbara Bush worked hard on advancing universal literacy, Hillary Clinton's chief issue was health care reform, and Laura Bush's project was education ...
Now's not the time to slung personal attacks or mud. A woman, a loyal woman to her husband has just died. It's time to appreciate and respect the life this woman lived and how we'd all like to live a life in her shoes. I'd trade anything to be able to be in her shoes and influence so many people and the US positively. May she rest in peace and may we find it within our hearts to be as graceful as Nancy was in her life.
Nancy Reagan had something most of today's younger folks can't identify with, class. I had a great deal of respect for the woman, not only for that, but for the respect she held for her role as 1st Lady. May she rest in peace.
RIP. She seemed a decent sort. I don't think she deserves the hagiography she's getting in some quarters, but that's to be expected from the people who treat Reagan as a secular Saint.
She was a wonderful and classy woman-a First Lady. Saw this today... RIP Nancy Reagan. This is what I woke up to this morning above the Reagan's Palm Springs golf course / vacation spot. Nancy's secret service code name was "rainbow" https://twitter.com/Johnnydontlike
Not for anything, but there are people that do not whitewash some things... Nancy Reagan: The Unauthorized Biography http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/423431.Nancy_Reagan The comment section by the readers of the book is most revealing and I've heard some interesting and juicy things about the young Nancy Regan of Hollywood, but hey, it was her life to live.
