Wise move actually. He was lucky to go out on a winning note (didn't play that great in SB 50) and had he stayed another season might have ruined his body for life.

Now we can only hope that he doesn't pull a Brett Favre and miss the game so much he goes through another couple tearful resignations and changes of heart (that was embarrassing).

I figured if he won the SB he'd take some time and then call it a career.

He's just an old White non-mobile QB.......the future of NFL is with black dual threat QBs like RGIII and Michael Vick......

I just saw this on a newscast, good for him. He goes out a winner after a long and great career - it really doesn't get much better than that. I think pretty much all football fans expected this......:clapping:

Smart move going out the way he did and putting that final stamp on his legacy. This guy had no more to prove and will be a first time ballot HOF.

Did you ever notice that when it comes to athletes, actors and musicians no one ever complains about them being in the 1%? Manning only had a job for 18 years and is set for life, on top of that he'll get a generous pension.

He'd have been riding the bench for half of next season if he decided to stay.
