He has thought up 10 million. Earlier 10 million were possible. Three times he has lost on elections. Any more he has no chance. For him only his party - 5 people votes my guess because he pays them.

He is dangerous Ouch. It for the interest of the West not to do the Maidan in Russia same as was in Ukraine, that this pensioner hasn't won. Otherwise he in difference from the Ukrainian Right Sector - who jump with a pitchfork, at once will begin to press the red buttons.

You know Putin is running out of time.

I am sure you have seen the Russian Economy numbers and the Russian Economy is expected to fall by perhaps as much as 7.5% this year and fall even more in 2017.

The question is....how much more can the Russian Economy take before it collapses again and how much more will the Russian people put up with before they come to the realization that it has been Putin's policies and especially the annexation of the Crimea that have placed the Russian economy in such dire straights.

Now Putin has several times now talked about a Post-Assad Syria and it will be the removal of Assad that will save the Russian Economy.

I mean....Oil Prices are very low and as long as they remain this low the Russian Economy will continue to shrink.

Putin himself estimates the Russian Economy will fall to only $1.68 Trillion in 2016 and as low as $1.4 Trillion in 2017.

These numbers of course would change if Assad is removed from power.

The moment Assad is removed the U.S. would have OPEC vote to lower Oil Production and this would raise Oil Prices perhaps back up to $40 to $45 a barrel.

I don't think it's aimed at Germany, but at the EU as a whole. The EU and NATO are two things Russia doesn't like, so they are trying to break them apart. There's reason to believe Russia is trying to create as many refugees as possible as a means to destabilise europe. The way the fight the war in Syria and that they support Assad's methods certainly have that effect. They are also giving money and other support to right wing populists groups in europe. These groups are anti-EU and often also anti-NATO, and many are also indifferent or positive to russia. They're spreading anti-EU propaganda to legitimise what russia is doing and to discredit the west. Sadly, it's going quite well. It's of course not all due to Russia, but Russia is probably very happy about a potential brexit, that populism is on the rise, that refugees destablise the EU.

If true, and it's you saying it so that caveat is important, I vote to keep Putin to keep Assad in place because the low oil price has really helped my pocket this past year. And besides that we're seeing technologies that have been suppressed in the past coming on stream using fuels other than of the fossil variety. Which is good news all round.

But apart from my admittedly selfish motives, all the big oil companies are taking massive hits to their income streams due to the low oil prices (see the nice, cuddly and not at all dangerous links HERE, HERE and HERE, Alpha). Btw, oil industry analysts do not foresee a quick turn around in the oil price and I guess that they're not paying full attention to your Assad-must-go-to-improve-oil-price scenario. Someone should tell them they're missing out on AA's indubitable analysis.

Oil is at $38.50 a barrel.

It was as low as $29 a barrel.

I don't see it rising to more than $45 a barrel.

The moment it get's up around $45 a barrel U.S. Shale Oil Production will kick in and it will lower to $38 to $40.

If the U.S. wanted to we could again increase U.S. Oil Production as the U.S. is the worlds largest producer of Oil and we could make it drop down to $25 a barrel or lower.

But we will NEVER again see Oil at $100 a barrel.

It costs a LOT MORE for Russia to produce a barrel of Oil compared to the U.S. or OPEC.

Given the numbers....Russia's economy falling between 4.5% to 7.5% a year....and the massive DIP the Russian Economy fell from $1.8 Trillion in 2014 when it annexed the Crimea to last years $1.2 Trillion in 2015 after the U.S. and Canada increased Oil Production to flood the world oil market thereby collapsing the Russian Economy....and the Russian economy as it continues to fall.....Putin needs to make a deal and FAST!!

The ONLY chip Putin has to make a deal is Assad.

And Putin has many times now talked about a Post-Assad Syria.

You're kidding right? The entire mess in Syria was created by western interventionism. Russia's involvement there is having a stabilizing effect, if anything.

As for giving money and support to right wing groups in Europe, you can't be serious. It was right wing neo-Nazis in Ukraine who helped to overthrow the pro-Russian government and serve as the military spearhead for incursions into eastern Ukraine.

I don't think there is any doubt that you've let your hatred of Russia cloud your judgment. You are not seeing things clearly.

How did the west create syrian mess?

Russia is creating refugees because they are bombing hospitals and trying to get rid of civilians.

Not in ukraine you genius, but in countries like germany. Russian propaganda works to help anti eu parties. That fake story about some russian girl for example.

By fomenting a rebellion there, just like they've done in dozen of countries throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. It's textbook "regime change" policies.

Sure they are. Because the claims of western governments and media in regards to Russia are so trustworthy.

Speaking of bombing hospitals: One Day After Warning Russia of Civilian Casualties, the U.S. Bombs a Hospital in Afghanistan

I'm simply highlighting the dissonance of accusing Russia of supporting right wing groups in Europe while western governments let militant neo-Nazis run amok in Ukraine.
