How? From where? Where can America reach Germany from with no foothold in Europe? Without being cornered, and with out having no time Germany would have not been forced to send it's 1200 pounds of Uranium to Japan. They would have used it themselves and developed the Atomic bomb before the US.

Hitler send the uranium to Japan before his suicide.

This would have never had happened if Hitler wasn't cornered and instead Germany would have been free to produce their own bomb

    1. Never said anything about "until everything is revealed". What I said is that we should wait until at least some of the facts come out before making idiotic statements. That doing like what you did is what causes things like Ferguson. That's an opinion. So your "I don't have an opinion" attack is nothing more then that.

    2. As I said. Go reread your first post. If you don't see what's wrong with it you never will. That's not an opinion. That's a sentencing. It's not like you said "oh maybe it was evil racist white NRA republicans." Which would be an actual opinion. No. Just go read your own comment then head on back over here.

    3. Jumping to conclusions is fine, so long as you actually have something to jump on. You did not.

    4. It's not about ethics. It's about it being stupid as hell.

    1. You have no idea why Hitler sent that uranium. So you can not use that.

    2. I have already said it half a dozen times but it's not getting through to you. That uranium would make and did make little to no difference as to who got the bomb first. How would 20% of the required uranium (which is only 1 single component to a nuclear bomb) help Germany acquire the bomb first when they hadn't even broken isotope splitting yet? And as stated the US had several bombs when we finally used them and had plans for half a dozen more with the next few months and dozens more after that, so clearly this 20% of one bomb was not that crucial to the US. But since telling you all this has not and most likely will not work. I will switch tactics. YOU tell ME how this 20% of 1 bomb would change the entire outcome of science and give the Germans the bomb first.

Oh and number 3. The U.K. Wasn't the only pathway into Europe. Australia, India, Africa, by that time we would have either already defeated Japan or at least cornered them to thier mainland meaning we had all of the pacific to use as our staging areas. Wouldn't have been that impossible to launch attacks on German targets. Getting to Berlin would be a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) but we would still definitely be able to hammer them hard.

Nice try, but neither do you.

We know that it was sent shortly after Hitler committed suicide.

And you still would have to get close enough to launch an attack.

America could not have beaten the brunt of German force by itself. It and Britain was strugking with only 20%. 40% in Europe and 40% in japan. It would be impossible for the west to advance. Remember we had to rely on Island hopping so thay we can have our bombers get close enough to make a bombing run and come back. Are you saying that America could have made bombing runs from such places? Please. Germany is smack down in the middle of Europe. You would HAVE TO GET TO EUROPE TO REACH GERMANY WITH ANY SORT OF BOMBS.

And if you didn't know, it was because we destroyed Germans industrial complex with our bombs and destroyed their heavy eater production that their efforts for the bomb grinded into a hault.

Without being challenge, that would have never have happened. Germany would have easily continued their production unhindered.

With out Russian and without the Allies, no one would have gotten close to do anything.

America had to get 340 miles close to Japan to mount a successful regular bombing raid. That should give you an understanding of the range of the bombers used. They would not have reached Germany without stepping foot into Europe. You cannot attack from Africa or Australia.

The decision to go to war in Vietnam was IMO, a very bad very uninformed decision. Vietnamese culture is entirely centered on war -especially the expulsion of foreign occupiers. Vietnamese, including Ho Chi Minh, seem to have an inherent affinity for Americans, perhaps because of a mutual affinity for war. North Vietnam was apparently drafting 12 year olds by the end of the war. I suppose we could have killed them all - and won.

The Indians were generally their own worst enemies: “Dozens of writers have commented on the warlike nature of the Indians. The warlike nature and bold provocations of some tribes or groups of warriors led to violence and injustices that might not otherwise have taken place. An important conclusion was that “combat among different tribes or among different bands within a tribe was, if anything, far more frequent than war between Indians and whites. Harold E. Drier even concluded in “Indians of North America” that “probably as many Indians were killed fighting each other after White contact as were killed in wars with the Whites.” William M. Osborn, "The Wild Frontier, Atrocities During The American-Indian War From Jamestown Colony To Wounded Knee," Random House NY 2000, pp. 24, 25.

Total and endless warfare in the norm in tribal culture.

The USG negotiations with and treatment of the tribes was, predictably, characterized by the kind of corruption, institutional ignorance, frequent indifference and incompetence that has been a hallmark of central government throughout recorded history.

I initially to be very anti-Stalin. I believed in the myths about the "terrible repression" and so on. But in the process of political discus, I began to read the available archives about Stalin. Memoirs of a well-known political figures. (First to confirm my anti-Stalin stance). But in the process of examination of the facts - I have changed my opinion to the opposite.

This is quite interesting. I initially was pro-Stalin, especially after reading Memoirs and Reflections by Zhukov and because my father is a kind of person who respect him a lot. But then after watching TV and listening to the radio a became anti-Stalin kind of person. Where did you pick up those tables with numbers?

as an individual... you're right... but I think the saying is more in reference to a group of peoples....

1930s-40s Germany got the socialists govt they deserved by allowing Hitler to come in. Does the 5 yo in 1944 Germany deserve that type of indoctrination? No, but the people of germany allowed it to happen

Ahahaha .... Who is Robert Conquest?...Ahaha ...He certainly knows all the secrets of the KGB?...Ahaha... But why did you not refer to a study for example McCain, McCarthy or other crazy? ... But it was very funny.

But you can see for comparison how many died in the same time, for example in the US or Indian colony.

The fact is when many of the first European settlers came to what would become the U.S. most of them DIED in the first year.

An example is the Pilgrims who actually first landed in PROVINCE TOWN which is at the very tip of Cape Cod in Massachusetts but they saw the sandy soil there and went around the tip of the Cape and into the Cape Cod Harbor or Gulf as it is big enough to be called a Gulf....and the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock which is an actual rock.

In the first year many of the Pilgrims died as they did not know squat about how to survive through the brutal New England winters.

It was the INDIAN'S that helped the Pilgrim's survive and the story of the first Thanksgiving was a LIE as it was the INDIAN'S that brought the vast majority of food and I remember stories being told to us in 1st Grade about how the poor starving Indian's were HELPED by the Good Christian Pilgrim's!! WHAT A JOKE!!

The war in Nam was idiotic but what was worse...and I have family members who died in Nam.....was the Micromanaging of the war by LBJ.

That SOB should have been put ON TRIAL for what he did!!!!

The U.S. Military was not even allowed to bomb Hanoi and it is a FACT that because the North KNEW that LBJ forbid the U.S. Military from bombing Hanoi that they could keep HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS of Soviet supplied SAM's RIGHT OUT IN THE OPEN without fear of attack!!

I grew up on a SAC Base....one of the largest in the U.S. in Massachusetts that changed from being part of the Nuclear Triad to flying missions over Nam and dropping Dumb Iron Bombs from B-52's.....many times in locations in Nam that LBJ HIMSELF had picked!!!

I remember as a KID watching as a B-52 Crew would not make it back.

Worse part was the B-52 Pilots and Crew KNEW they were dropping munitions on NOTHING!!

The Pilgrims recorded a record of their experience. I have a copy - have not read it yet. But those who have read it say that it documents the failure of their initial collective central planning approach.

LBJ, should have been put on trial for the Gulf of Tonkin Incident hype that justified massive intervention. Yes, his absurd management of the war insured maximum casualties on both sides and made a quick decisive victory impossible. The Red River water management system should have been destroyed in the first week - ditto the mining of the harbor at Haiphong. The assassination of Diem was another serious error.

But the best choice would have been to negotiate an anti-China/Soviet alliance with Ho after WW II. Depending on the French to keep their pants up since 1919 has been a bad bet.

The problem was that Stalin wanted West Berlin and as Stalin surrounded and closed off all ground travel along the Autobahn which connected West Germany to West Berlin as Berlin both East and West was located in the Soviet Sector the United States began the BERLIN AIRLIFT flying in food and supplies.

THAT...was the start of the COLD WAR!!!

There NEVER should have been a wall built around West Berlin and the Soviet's made a grave tactical error thinking the U.S. would abandon West Berlin.

The United States and the CCCP were allies and we could have developed even closer relations which very well could have tempered the Communist Party Leaderships paranoia of ANYTHING that was not under their control.

At the same time the embargo of West Berlin just inflamed the U.S. and Western Europe Paranoia that Stalin and Communism wanted to invade and take over Western Europe.

At that time the United States Military as it does today reigned supreme and Stalin was playing a dangerous game as the U.S. for quite some time was the only Nation equipped with Nuclear Weapons.

In fact the Soviet's would have if left to their own means....taken several decades more to develop Nukes if they had not STOLEN U.S. NUCLEAR SECRETS which allowed the Soviet's to catch up and build their own Nuke.

I have to give the Soviet's credit as far as SPY-CRAFT goes as they were extremely good at stealing secrets especially in areas of Military Technology where they were way behind the United States.

But the Soviet Communist Party made the mistake of attempting to challenge the United States as far as their massive build up of both conventional and nuclear forces.

The U.S. already was a highly industrial and technologically advanced nation with the ability to take breakthroughs in Military Project and Weapons Development and apply them in the PRIVATE SECTOR thus U.S. Military Defense Contractors could use such developed high tech. in the development and manufacture of GOODS, SERVICES, FARMING AND AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN.

The Soviet's were much more ONE DIMENSIONAL and although they were able to manufacture HUGE numbers of Tanks, BMP's, Artillery, Rockets and Planes....not many Naval Ships though other than subs due to their cold weather port issues......they did not have much ability to use tech. breakthroughs for use in development and manufacturing of Goods, Services, Farming and Auto's.

By the later half of the 1980's the Soviet's had bankrupted themselves trying to match the U.S. Military Industrial Complex Weapons Systems and Platform Development and Manufacturing.

Plus the U.S. Military's restructuring from old WWII and Korean War Mentality of fighting into a Highly Mobile, Quick in the Extreme and Integrated Service Fighting Force......is something that to THIS DAY....Russia has YET to accomplish.

I watched as Russian Tanks had each a multitude of Russian Soldiers sitting on each one as they rolled into the Ukraine. It reminded me of U.S. Forces and Soldiers riding Sherman Tanks toward BERLIN during WWII.

Marx developed a theory to eliminate the evils associated with government. Lenin enthusiastically embraced Marxism and created a manual for revolution and the installation of a new system of government where central power was carefully checked by the will of the "armed workers" using instant recall to replace any worker/leaders who disappointed them. The early USSR, at least in the major centers, was something of a libertarian playground for intellectuals, but ultimately the "armed workers" were no check at all over a new expanding tough bureaucracy. Marxism was revealed as just another failed Utopian dream and a vehicle for unprecedented levels of totalitarian control and persecution.

Nevertheless, Marxism was directed at perfecting the early American model for very limited government power that evolved out of the near universal hostility to government that motivated those who fled persecution to be left alone - often into a hostile wilderness. An attitude similar to the attraction anarchy has always had for serfs - especially Russian serfs. So there is an intellectual link, and if our leaders had been fully aware of it they might have been able to engage in productive dialogue and negotiations with some Communists - especially Ho.

Now we see Communist regimes eagerly embracing the national socialist model which is completely divorced from the anti-government theories of Marx and Lenin. These regimes are not crippled by any Utopian fantasy, and they are able supercharge their economies by embracing capitalist principles. Now China is fully revealed as a very dangerous aggressive expansionist military threat, and the West is depending on the now very vulnerable American carrier groups to check that expansion.

The only real check on another great war is the nuclear shield. Is it still a credible deterrent? I am not sure.

The Chinese Carrier Killer Missiles were obsolete before the Chinese even began building them.

There are a few reasons for this and one being that U.S. Carriers in an actual shooting war would NEVER move to within effective range of such Chinese Missiles and the other being the Advanced SM-3 AA/ABM/ASAT which is the ONLY existing and beyond highly effective Anti-Aircraft/Anti-Ballistic Missile/Anti-Satellite Missile existing and the SM-3 is carried in large numbers on all U.S. Ticonderoga Class Cruisers.

    LINK.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDqNjnUNUl8

On 20 Feb 2008 HST, the USS Lake Erie (CG-70) fired a modified tactical Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) missile at the malfunctioned spy satellite USA 193. The impact occurred at about 150 miles above the Pacific Ocean and at an impact velocity of around 22,000 mph. The Aegis Weapon System (AWS) confirmed a successful hit and rupture of the satellite's hydrazine fuel tank, tracking debris from the impact "no larger then a football".

That link shows the actual video of the shoot down.

Now that was back in 2008 as the SM-3 is launched from the USS. Cruiser Lake Erie and directly impacts JUST A PART...the Hydrazine Tank on a Satellite at ORBITAL DISTANCE at an impact velocity of 22,000 mph.

We have made much greater advancements in ABM/ASATS since 2008.

Hitting that Hydrazine Tank is a LOT more difficult than hitting a much...much sower flying incoming Chinese Missile.

Soon all U.S. Carriers will have the FEL...Free Electron Lasers which along with a worldwide orbital targeting satellite system will be able to vaporize targets anytime...anywhere at the speed of light.

The first Carrier to get an FEL will be the new CVN-78 Gerald R. Ford then CVN-79 JFK and CVN-80 Enterprise.

All 3 Ford Class Stealth Carriers and the Ford will soon be put to sea trials....will have Mag-Lev Catapults as well have 2 new A1B Nuclear Reactors each putting out 300 Megawatts for a total of 600 Megawatts.

The Navy expects to have 1 Megawatt FEL Beaming capability by 2020 and way up over that level by 2024.

The FEL is not effected by atmosphere as it's frequency can be adjusted.

A carrier group is apparently entering the S. China Sea now or soon. How close will it come to the new fortified Islands? What are its rules of engagement? Will they shoot down aircraft that fly over the carrier? How about approaching ships? Submarines?

Well I don't think the Chinese would be stupid enough to launch ANYTHING at a U.S. Navy Carrier Strike Group.

We are Patrolling International Waters and considering that any attack by China upon a U.S. Naval Carrier Strike Group in International Waters would be considered an ACT OF WAR.

The SHORTEST distance between China and Taiwan is 1306.77 miles.....that gives our Carriers a good amount of room to maneuver....but still the SM-3 would be more effective at greater distance.

But here is where the U.S. Navy is capable of handling any incoming Carrier Killers....anything that has a SEEKER as the Carriers are moving thus the Chinese Carrier Killer Missile must SEEK them out....anything that must SEEK....CAN BE JAMMED!!!

The U.S. Military and Navy has the best Jamming Technology on the Planet and it can be said the Chinese Missiles which have NEVER been effectively tested.....would be Jammed and have their Seeking Units BURNT OUT by U.S. Electronic Warfare Systems.

But as I said....any attack upon a U.S. Ship would mean WAR....and China is NO MATCH for the U.S. Militarily.

Even if China fired and missed the U.S. could within a week completely collapse the entire Chinese Economy by simply refusing any and all shipments and exports Chinese Goods to the U.S.

NOTHING we import from China has any strategic value nor is there anything we need.

So if a submarine approaches a carrier how close can it get without being subject to attack? Would a sub be attacked before it banged the hull?

The U.S. Naval Sub Force in that area is immense.

    We track EVERYTHING.

We even used a Chinese Sub as we pretended not to know where it was to convince Japan a Nuclear Carrier Group was needed to replay the old Non-Nuclear Kitty Hawk Carrier Group.

We let the Chinese sub near the group and it surfaced making it seem as if they snuck up on the Kitty Hawk.

This was a ruse AND A WAY TO GET THE NIMITZ CLASS USS. GEORGE WASHINGTON CARRIER GROUP stationed in Japan.

The U.S. Navy can detect subs in so many ways it is IMPOSSIBLE for a Chinese Sub to sneak up on us.

We use everything from Microphones plated on the ocean floor to Sonar, Satellite Magnetometers and Satellite based Deep Earth and Ocean Penetrating Radars...and there are a number of other way's to detect subs.

The Chinese are not so stupid as to make the mistake of challenging a U.S. Navy Nuclear Carrier Strike group.

I had assumed that they could detect an approaching sub with active sonar or some newer technique. What concerns me are the rules of engagement. If a sub approaches a carrier group is there any point where it would be preemptively attacked?

How does a carrier group deal with an approaching surface ship? A fast junk or yacht for instance? Did rules change after the attack on the Cole?

Stalin did not kill Millions of his own people too.

It isn't necessary to continue to extend false information. Stalin didn't kill millions of people. Several millions have been placed in prison (approximately as much as in prison of the US now)

To a capital punishment for 33 years it is sentenced 642 980 persons.

Whether it is a lot of? Of course, there is a lot of.

At the same time the first person have condemned repressions and lawlessness … I.V. Stalin. He appointed Beria who has stopped repressions in People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs. And the bloody former people's commissar Ezhov has been arrested and shot, together with him many thousands of employees of People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs, from those who condemned the innocent have been punished.

Nevertheless Aboriginals are Indians, these are citizens of the USA now.

You remembers the American saying - The only good Indian is a dead Indian.

In the US in time the president - Andrew Jackson of the slaveholder-slave trader-executioner is characterized as, Jacksonian Democracy, Is lie.

In 1830 Indian Removal Act has been accepted. Then Trail of Tears where Indians have been forced to leave the earth has begun and to make long movement it is unknown where where their way of life has been destroyed. Conditions of the compulsory forced march were extremely and deliberately cruel therefore thousands have died on the way. When the survived profits to the destination they have found that the earth infertile. The vast majority was doomed to death. "The exile purpose — resettlement of Indians, and their destruction isn't simple". (Helium 08,05,2007)

PS: From the moment of opening by Christopher Columbus of the USA in 1492 and until the end of the 20th century. During the entire period, allegedly, 100 million people of indigenous people of America have died.

Stalin is a leader who was successful in everything : in transforming a backward country into a developed industrial and agricultural power, in spreading frontier science and culture among illiterate population, in harmonizing people and rapid restoring the country after the civil war, in taking the victory in the most terrible war in history ,in taking back the lost territories,in surrounding the Soviet Union by the ring of friendly neighbors,in creating a weapon that already for 60 years protects Russia against aggressors.

And what is more, Stalin for the first time in history created a state where there was no social inequality and exploitation of man by man.

According to our Western friends the Russians should hate him for this, such is their logic.
