Look at the source of that claim..

In 2011, The New York Times obtained documents detailing how an 800-member battalion of foreign fighters was being trained in the UAE with the help of Prince for defensive security operations. Many of these mercenaries were Colombian.

A company called Reflex Responses (R2) reportedly had the contract with the UAE, and Prince does not own or run that company. He did, however, work to oversee the efforts to train and recruit troops. The New York Times reported last month that Prince has left his role in the UAE program several years ago.

Fast forward five years to this month’s reports of “Blackwater” deaths in Yemen.

With all the previous information in mind, it appears evident that “Blackwater” troops did not recently die in Yemen.

The UAE recently deployed hundreds of its mercenaries, many of them Colombian, to fight in Yemen. The New York Times reported that it was the first combat deployment of the private army which Prince helped set up with R2.

So those who were killed were likely members of this large UAE contingent. Press TV may have reported that they were with Blackwater, but given that the company in charge is actually R2, and that Prince allegedly doesn't hold a role there anymore, that is clearly not the case.

This also explains why Blackwater (Academi) did not release a statement regarding the mass loss of life of mercenaries said to be in their ranks. Numbers like those reported this month were never seen in Blackwater casualty reports, which is further evidence that initial speculation about who the mercenaries worked for was inaccurate.

That is completely unrelated to trade and trade deficits.

Who did? How would we have stopped those jobs from leaving?

You just finished saying we should pull out of Korea and close our bases cause they don't pay us enough.

Why do you think we have bases in Germany? For their benefit or ours?

What do you yhink Germany's treaty obligations are?

What do you think the US pays for in Germany?

Its a dirty word in most of Europe, Scandinavia, East Asia and Canada as well.

By contrast, I live in Canada and am glad that Harper and his gang lost a fortune on this. They sank much or most of their assets setting up the infrastructure to develop the tar-sands, and now with all the Saudi oil flooding in, they are producing oil at a deficit, and even if they shut down production it will still cost them hundreds of millions to maintain the infrastructure. I may lose 50 cents per hour because of this state of affairs, but they are losing billions. Glad to see those turds crash and burn.

My point is that we DO hire mercenaries. We used them heavily in Iraq. Blackwater had guys who had worked death squads in El Salvador and Nicaragua, henchmen from Augusto Ponichet's regime in Chile, and white South African mercinaries all on the US payroll.

I'm not even going to bother with this one.

Trump's pronouncements on foreign policy are so idiotic that they're beyond repair. I realize taht there are a lot of really stupid and really parochial folks out there in the sticks who don't know any better either. Some of them are right here on this thread, spouting silly nonsense.

If Trump keeps up like this, he'll be a global laughing stock by the time the GOP convention rolls around.

So?? Soldiers are soldiers. As long as the Sauds are the ones paying them I can't see the problem.

Russia is not the Soviet Union, it is not trying to dominate the world and implement global communism, it has resumed a path far more like historic Russia under the Tsars.

    1) Thanks but years online have taught me NOT to give any credence to unsupported opinions, especially if I have literally hundreds of other sources can be verified by other sources, such as; Iran: 150,000 Saudi Mercenaries Ready to Enter Syria

    2) Like I said, I'm also NOT in the mood to argue this.

When Katrina hit America you were inundated with offers of help, and you even asked for it (and got it). Some of the world's poorest nations offered help. None came looking for a reward or asking for payment. 'What can we get out of this' wasn't an option. That's the American Way.

Without mercs, SA really does not have the manpower to be a sustained military threat in the region.

Saudi Arabia has one of the best-funded defence forces in the Middle East. The kingdom spends 25% of its budget, or about $80 billion, on its military. In terms of manpower, Saudi Arabia has about 440,000 active personnel in its military, with 225,000 army troops, Saudi Arabia also has more than 100,000 people in its national guard and 25,000 tribal levies,[11] which is used primarily to secure internal threats but has been used as an expeditionary force too. The navy has about 40,000 members, as does the air force. In addition, there is a military intelligence service, the General Intelligence Presidency (GIP).

Seems they do.. Mercs are just easier to use as it shields the Royal family.

Not only that but Blackwater has gone through quite a few name changes to increase deniability and they are hardly the only merc company just the most known.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academi

And the former owner is hardly out of the industry shall we say ;)
