Certainly are nice cars to say the least. I doubt I'd ever own one though even if I could afford it. I like cars that I can actually work on myself not ones that require me to send it to a specialized factory if I happen to run over a nail or something. I can only imagine the luxury of something like that though. I rode in a Cadillac once and I was amazed at how smooth it rode. Felt like I was gliding on air I couldn't even feel anything in the road smaller than a plot hole. I'm sure something more expensive like a Bentley would leave me in awe.

Just not my personal cup of tea though. If I get a vehicle then I at least want to be able to change my own oil in the thing. Plus I enjoy power over luxury as well. Now granted a Bentley off of the production line will smoke almost anybody's project car, but give me about 1/4 of the price of one of those things and I'll build something that will go toe to toe with it. It won't be nearly as pretty and it won't be a "Bentley", but it will be as fast as one or at least close to it.

I used to be like you and always worked on my own vehicles.

But, with age comes wisdom. Just bought a new truck (more like the SUV I traded in but with an open back) and included a total maintain and replace contract with it. They've gotta do everything! :salute:

Well it's more of a hobby for me than a money saving thing. I enjoy wrenching on my own vehicles. In todays day and age it really isn't even cheaper anymore to change your own oil, if it is then you might save a couple bucks or something. But I enjoy going to Autozone and grabbing my oil and filters and stuff and probably buying other random crap that I don't need. I don't think I've ever managed to leave an Autozone empty handed lol.

When my truck or car breaks something I am the opposite of other people. Most people say "Damnit!!", me I say "yay" lol. Now I have something to do this weekend. My vehicles rarely ever break simply because I take way too good care of them. I change stuff that isn't even broken yet simply because I'm bored and want to do something.

Just a few weeks ago my truck's water pump and fan clutch started dying on me. So I head over to my buddies house with his shop to drop it off and told him I'd be back the next day after work to fix it. He is just like me when it comes to vehicles and I arrive the next day to get started and his ass had already fixed it for me. I was mad lol. Hell half the time I TRY to break my truck but the damn thing won't break. I've taken that thing through hell and high water and it just keeps on chugging along like new. I'm sitting here like damnit will you blow a damn head gasket already so I can rebuild you. Stupid Built Ford Tough lol. Ford trucks are notorious for eating transmissions and I've had a transmission on standby in my garage for years waiting for this one to blow but it simply won't. My last 3 Ford trucks I had to replace the transmissions within about a year. This damn thing just won't die for some reason.

Only time I won't repair something is if I simply don't have the time, then in that case I'll just drop it off at my buddies house with the shop who will do it for pennies because he loves it. I've had a vehicle before with a powertrain warranty and it drove me crazy not being able to tear into it. I can't do "stock" vehicles. If its a truck I'm tearing the suspension apart and rebuilding it and lifting it or something. If it's a car I'm replacing heads and cams and intakes and stuff almost immediately or just swapping the entire engine out. I sold that warranty truck I had almost immediately and went and bought something a lot cheaper and used the money to tear it apart lol.

I'm sure if I ever run out of time to play with my toys then I'll appreciate a full warranty service. But for now my brain is wired backwards. I get annoyed at my vehicles for running good, I'm the guy who pops the hood looking for ANYTHING that might look slightly worn out so I can tear it out lol. I'm the guy they hate at auto shops because on the rare off occasion they are working on my vehicle I'm standing next to them trying to hand them tools or something and it gets on their nerves lol. And if they try to tell me I can't go watch them in the bay then I'll tell them I'm taking my business elsewhere so they reluctantly let me stand in there and be annoying lol.

I don't think I would want to drive something that cost that much money....
