Ol' Miss. R Sen. wants bill supporting potential Sharia Law with full immunity

Sean Tindell, a Republican state senator says “This will allow a church to have a sergeant-at-arms to protect the church body, just like we have (in the Legislature).”

Others said the Mississippi Church Protection Act crossed a line, especially since it does more than allow churches to have armed guards. It also legalizes concealed carry in a holster without a permit throughout the state — so-called “constitutional carry” — and prohibits state officials from enforcing any federal gun regulation not passed by Congress. The law would require churches or other places of worship to provide training for the armed member or members. That person would then be immune from civil prosecution when using the weapon in church “if the action in question occurs during the reasonable exercise of and within the course and scope of the member’s official duties as a member of the security program for the church or place of worship.”

Tho I support full open carry most anywhere, this is a very slippery slope that could easily turn disastrous and then allow the killer to walk free. Not a good idea when there are better ways to protect their churches and parishioners. Sounds like they want to take extreme advantage of fear to promote ulterior agendas and walk scott free.

Germany is a few steps ahead of them. Their politicians and the media laughed off public concerns concerning the creeping Shariah as paranoid and bigoted ensuring that the German law is non-compatible with the Shariah, yet it's been for a while now that you can keep 4 wives if married abroad, and all 4 will collect the husband's benefits if he dies. There were countless isolated court rulings so far which favoured Shariah over the German law. Further, the Bundestag deputies are now reviewing the compatibility of Shariah with the German civil law. So this is the compromise they will reach (for now) - Civil Shariah law yes; criminal Shariah law no.

 

I suggest you actually read the bill.

It just means that the potential to die from a shooting in church will now rise (and I'm not taking about the criminal shooting at the parishioners) since any John Wayne-wanna-be who is shooting at a perp would most likely miss and strike some innocent bystander, either killing or seriously injuring them. All this does is basically forgive the shooter of any liability and legally allows the churches to become little western towns with gunslingers awaiting awaiting in the pews. Just what Jesus ordered.

One has to wonder why you think this would be limited to Christian churches my guess would be you didnt read the bill.. Perhaps try reading it before posting more gibberish based on ignorance.

I'm willing to bet the promoters of this law will be trying to get it rescinded when mosques start arming their members.

It'll turn out like the voucher law in Louisiana where the instant Muslims started using the vouchers to send their kids to Muslim religious schools, the lawmaker who wrote the law will go "well I didn't intend for it to apply to non-Christians."

Yeah, the Lousinana voucher law used similar language. Then the Rightwingers who created it instantly started freaking out when they learned Muslims were using it too.

It reinforces my belief that to the Right, "Freedom Of Religion" is really "Freedom to choose which denomination of (preferably Protestant) Christianity you want to believe in" in their minds.

Read the language in the bill... Lawful Muslims exist do they not?

What part of the bill leads you to believe this only applies to Christians? Do you REALLY go by a biased article over the bill itself?

 

If you really wanted to discuss this bill on an intellectual basis you should have used the real title of the article and if you really saw a connection with Sharia you could have included it in your narrative. You know 'sharia" like . or Slippery "Sharia" slope.
