You're right. And ignore these other people hell-bent on saying, "Who are YOU to decide?!"

No conscientious person reacts that way.

It does get more amusing, missy.
I said I don't know, it's the omniscient being that knows. The one the poster I'm responding to lives for.
Try to read what is written and understand it.
Did you see, omniscient being? Do you know what omniscient is? What being is proclaimed to be omniscient?

Gov't officials aren't immune to corrupt corporations. But gov't officials are usually the root of the problem. It's the corrupt corporations.
To fix a problem you need to get to the source, not the result.

Does it matter? But it really is the one who believe the omniscient being exists.
If it does, then all things are already predestined.
If it doesn't, then no biggie.
But the one who I responded to, believes the omniscient being exists and that there is a plan for humanity.

    Unisus,

Isn't it the 1st Amendment that allows free spech. Anyone can qustion anyone about anything at any time. Cann't they? Whether that person is right or not is another question altogether. Wars have and are being fought over the beliefs of people. If we didn't have Gods and tgese beliefs maybe we wouldn't have or have had so many wars.

People will kill each other over anything. Most of our justifications for actions are just window dressing for banal instincts. Humans, when organized, will readily kill each other simply because they are told to or because they are part of a group. Humans, generally speaking, care about spouses, close family members, and maybe their friends--otherwise, people don't really care about the suffering of others when they can benefit from screwing another person.

True, but it seems the reasons for killing in wars is often political or relgious beliefs. Communism vs Capitlaism, Muslim vs Christian etc. Having a gun in your hand can lead to an unintended consequence if anger is involved too. Even the American way can lead to violence, because someone is taught they are better than the next man etc.

I think they'd just create another ideology and use it as justification to take the things of others. Humans always do.

Your life is not set in stone. Where did you get that? The only thing God says that is somewhat similar is, He knew you before you was in the womb. But that does not imply your life is set in stone. God gave us free will and the earth. This is when lucifer became jealous of Adam and began to rebel against God.

Then what's the point in believing destiny is already planned out? What purpose does it serve? You still have to make decisions.

I didn't say I believed it. But those that believe in an omni everything has to per the definition of omni.
    Anyway, this is way OT.
There are countless threads on the illusion of free will.

My questions: why should people own smart phones when they take away attention from real life? Why should people get food stamps when people that go to work work their hardest just to spend so much on food? Why should anyone pay for someone else's contraceptions when you can go out to a drug store or supermarket to get a month supply for $20? Why should anyone's freedom of expression with their faith be compromised because 1 person who doesn't agree with them doesn't like what they see?

    Just asking.

If free will were a delusion, you could sit on your can and do nothing, get evicted, wind up on the street and say, "oh, well, it's my destiny, nothing I could do about it."

It's a tad bit more complicated than that. All I can say is that you need to look into this in GREAT depth.

I could not. For if that wasn't the plan I had to do what I'm doing.

So whatever happens you absolve yourself of any responsibility, lol!
    What a crock of crap!
Tell you what. You keep your silly superstitions.

Now why would I want to do that? If everything was predetermined, nothing makes any difference anyway. What would be the point in looking into anything?

It's the God of Abraham that knows all things and all events of the entire world. Right down to the day God will end the world.
Not my belief. I said that 2 you already.

And how would that absolve one from earthly consequences?
