It gets worse by the day. And you thought we are a secular society? Think again.....

One day the inevitable will happen, and we are being told the God made the universe, scientists are all lefties, gays/lesbians should be stoned and there is certainly no truth in other religion.
It has already started with stopping the boats, to keep the Muslims out. And so on and so on.
Boy we are in reverse gear since the 1970'ties....
    Cheers

You seem to have a very twisted and confused view about what religion is.

Obviously there are Christians in all major political parties, but yea if a political cult (of any type) emerges with any real size or organization within a larger party, they usually end up splitting away when they realize they cannot get the numbers to extend power. Christianity is not widespread enough in Australia to represent a major party IMO. But hey, we have the ALP representing a meaningless archaic social group (unions) so why not the LNP lol

Seems like a fairly accurate description of many religions.

With the number of atheists increasing at an unprecedented rate, I can see religion playing less of a role in all political parties.

    yeap,
that is why I believe religion and government should be separated, going back to secularism.....
With all these world wide tendencies to the right side however I am not sure what will happen next.
I don't want those fundamentalists tell us that God created the World, and see them taking over government. Then the next big war (WW3) is unavoidable....
    Cheers
