    But I'll bet this caricature come to life of a Yale professor just loves Black Lives Matter and Organizing for America though.
    Those are the sort of real "American values" I'm sure he embraces and loves. At any rate, unless these comments were made ten years ago, he is not only ignorant and the sort of know nothing bigot he claims to oppose but he is hopelessly locked in the past as well.

    And what you fail to mention is they havent changed anything! As a matter of fact the laws they have tried to pass havent passed or habe been turned oved by the courts. The Tea Party never has been about fiscal issues only social issues and they have fell flat on their faces. Then end result is you guys have Trump now and you are stuck in a bad spot.

    In other words a do-nothing congress; they didn't keep one promise they made to the voters. Even some conservatives in this forum have admitted that congress did nothing.

    The professor made very astute and honest points in those quotes. The Tea Party does represent the ill informed, just look at who they elected to Congress and the Senate. The most important thing he said though has been my lifelong passion, reading. We used to read more as a nation. Literature stands out because it tells a timeless story with characters that seem real. Dickens teaches us with every word. Dumas teaches us, Voltaire teaches us, Cervantes teaches us; Twain, Tolstoy, Kipling, London, Dos Passos, the list is long and worthy of the time it takes to read all of them. This man is reminding us that we are treading on familiar ground, it has all been done before if you care to read about it.
