Does anyone use it? Can you explain it to us? I understand it has a variety of items such as a word processor, data sheet, and even a graphics area. Does it onl ywork with Chrome or will other browsers work too?

These questions come about because of an article in PCWorld asking, Do you need a backup if you use Google Docs or Office 365? @ http://www.pcworld.com/article/3079...use-google-docs-or-office-365.html#tk.rss_all

Google Drive is an online file storage solution. Basically, you can backup and/or store your files in "the cloud". It is somewhat similar to Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive, but as an Android user, I prefer Google Drive since it integrates very well with Google's other products. You can manually upload/download/edit files, and/or you can install a companion application on your PC to allow automatic syncing of specified files on your local hard drive.

Google Docs used to be a separate product, but has since been integrated into Drive. You can create/edit word processing documents, spreadsheets, etc (similar to Microsoft Office). It even supports opening and converting other document formats, like Microsoft Word, for example.

It works in all browsers, not just Chrome (at one point, I believe a few extra features were only supported in Chrome, though I'm not sure if that's still the case). It's pretty powerful and comes in handy. All files are private by default, but if you choose, it allows you to share them (on a per-file basis) with anyone publicly, or to only specific people.

Everyone with a Google account/email address can set up a Drive for free, with 15GB of storage space. Here is a quick getting started guide: https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2424384?hl=en
