From what I read, the shooter had apparently planned to escape but the victim's brother went after him as soon as he shot her which prevented him from fleeing. The brother is probably lucky he did not get shot as well. I am a little surprised they did not have closer security at the meet and greet. Even though she was not super famous, that still seems to be have been an oversight. And, as long as we do not have better controls on who is allowed to have a gun, we will not have better controls on who can buy ammo to do these things.
