Your study which would have looked at Nidal Hasan, Omar Mateen, or Syed Farook for that matter, and would have found them all highly assimilated by their standards? That's a possible solution, not necessarily "the" solution or the best solution. For instance, it would basically mean that if you're a refugee fleeing the extremists, you're screwed. I don't think we should put the extremists and their victims in the same basket. We should shoot the former and welcome the latter. You seem to think that showing that a couple of people who would have counted as "assimilated" later committed attacks invalidates the measure of assimilating. That's not how it works. As I said, there are always individual exceptions to a general rule. It does not make the general rule invalid. As an example, if there is a general conclusion that "people with college degrees earn more", you don't invalidate that with a couple of examples where college-educated people earn less. Your points are based on logical fallacies, as best I can tell. The fact that you think that belief in Islam is totally incompatible with tolerance of (or attendance at) gay dance clubs is one such fallacy.
