The Scottish Indy No Campaign were telling our EU Citizens and all other migrants that they would be heading for home if the vote was yes as well. My daughter works with a French Gay man who is very concerned about the Front National and thought he was going to end up with nowhere to live. This was in reality the opposite of intention - we are not full, but unlike in Brexit these people did have a vote. Hence obviously an attempt to get them to vote no. What is the point now when the UK is not going to let them vote? Why also is the main reason given for Brexit that we have far too many migrants if the UK intends on keeping them if she leaves? Makes no sense to me and either they are playing about wanting rid of the migrants, keep pay low and all that, or they are lying about not getting rid of them and will, maybe not the day of a leave vote but pretty soon after they start making their plans, start making plans where non UK's ability to work has such stipulations on it that most people cannot keep up with resulting in them having to leave or be deported....of course that is if it is the ones who do not want to be in any way involved in the EU because being involved in the EU as 'just trading partners' would demand we take migrants exactly as we are now.

Maybe they higher English speakers as an employees, but the top management consists of German, or Swiss people.
If you look back, in 18th and 19th century the main language in Europe was French. At the end of 19th century German language became the dominant in Europe. Then came an order of English. So there is nothing permanent. And in the currrent situation people may switch from English to other language.

I think that using deportations as a scare tactic is a little dramatic, but it is the media.
My take is that if the people vote to leave it would mean that all non UK citizens will no longer be able to claim welfare, so they will self deport, that is move to an EU country who will continue to give them money in one form or another.

The welfare in respect of Europeans is a red herring. On average they give back more than they take out. From a people's point of view, they worry about them working for lower wages. This can be sorted out by bringing in necessary worker protection. One of the main gains the elite see in leaving the EU is ripping up the book on workers protections and human rights. I am not sure what else the elite are after but there is a fair amount of English Nationalism among the Tories. Usually that means getting rid of everyone but West Europeans - not saying that is the intention, just that if the motivation of the elite is English Nationalism it might be.

There is also some debate about democracy. The UK coming out of the EU is unlikely to add to democracy in Scotland so is of little interest here. How far it would in England is also questionable.

The more widespread concern is that if the UK left it would create a domino effect which would result in ethnic nationalist states in many EU countries - obviously those who like the idea of ethnic nationalist states whether in Europe or the US find that appealing.

Not quite; French was the chosen language of the elites-national leaders etc. All the rest spoke their native languages.

The idea of deporting any EU citizen from Britain is not something anyone is expected to happen. We should deport sympathisers of terroist causes (this clearly does not include Polish people). But the idea that this may effect their children will cause political issues.

Well don't hold your breath because it ain't gonna happen. We have now climbed into the 'lifeboat' and you're soon going to be looking around for bits of flotsam and jetsam to save you from drowning. I don't like saying this because it isn't the fault of ordinary EU citizens but the fault of incompetent and self-serving bureaucrats who, when the crunch comes, will leave their citizens to face the awful social and economic consequences of their failure whilst they take their money and run.

Within two years, Britain will formally be out of the EU and a new visa scheme will be introduced, which requires all EU workers to apply for a work permit. Low-skilled workers will be eliminated in the process. But there would be an amnesty for those who are already in the UK at the moment to make sure that no current EU migrants will be forced to leave the country. I heard about this on BBC.

I have so far been completely correct in my analysis of the situation... People are already demanding a revote... The UK is disintegrating and the cost of voting no has already started to show. The UK as I predicted will fall apart unless you reverse the decision. Unfortunately for you Europe does not care now. You voted and you pay the price. Enjoy!

No they didn't actually. London, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar all voted to stay. So the English actually did something ENGLISH not BRITISH. Now Britain will cease to exist.

Like I just said elsewhere - it's only been 48 bloody hours, and there have been worse repercussions in recent history to an annual budget statement so don't get too carried away with your own percipience lest I should make you eat your words in the short fullness of time. I'll go with my 'gut instincts' ( ) rather than your percipience any day. Hope you soon find another job, by the way? Nowt worse than being made redundant from a lucrative sinecure, especially when you thought it was going to be a job for life?? [IMG]

Krzysztof, Mngamba and Ahmed against a referendum in Britain. They used to live at the expense of the British.

This all comes down to horse trading the terms of the exit. One of the most attractive aspect of the EU was free movement of peoples. It was also to most divisive for the northern nations. Germans and Brits love the idea of buying a little villa in the Algarve or in Tenerife or Marbella but if it goes the other way, they start to cry about immigration. The key to this will be the tone and tenor of what British and EU leaders do and say between now and the final agreement. If UKIP drives a hard bargain politically through pushing the public and the Tories, then you will see their counterparts react in kind. It is like having a family member publicly trash the family and then ask mom and dad for the keys to the car, all the furniture in the bedroom, the spare TV and a set of old linens while the moving vans are in the driveway. Don't worry mom, it wasn't personal, I just did not like the rules.
