Give what a rest Diamond. See I knew straight from the beginning all you were interested in was bluffing your way out of talking about the disrespect the Labour party shows to its members and the lack of democracy in it and the stinking xenophobia in your country by trying to deflect this issue to Scotland - and independence because you are the one who keeps going on about that. Now where is your proof that you were initially a Corbyn supporter or are you one of the trolls here whose word counts for nothing. Now like I said if you are just wishing to deflect and be dishonest I have nothing further to say to you.
"But its not up to me. If it was , I'd ban all over 70s from voting, I swear if I hear one more old fossil saying they just wanted their country back ( from where?) and moaning they didn't fight a war to be overrun by immigrants, I'll kick their stick away. And gouge their eyes out with it. Well, probably not, but I'm so angry." You would have been at the front of the queue in Chairman Mao's revolution, denouncing your own parents and grandparents. You should be ashamed. Borderline fanatic.
Perhaps Labour will find another Millibrand. Surely there has to be a cousin out there somewhere that hasn't been tried yet.
Other way round. I'm trying to get this thread back on track to the Parliament of the UK and not just England. Stop talking about the UK as England . As you cannot ask my friends and family, you'll have to take my word for it. I initially thought he would be good for Labour, but that didn't last very long. He cannot win an election, so he's very bad for Labour. I think anyone who supports him secretly doesn't want to see Labour in government, because he doesn't stand a chance. Well, that's up to you. Perhaps there are others who would like to discuss his replacement, which cant come soon enough for me
Hyperbole much? We didn't allow 16 or 17 year olds to vote, so I don't see why there shouldn't be a cut off age. You have to admit those 16 and 17 year olds have had their future affected far more than the over 70s.
Their brains aren't mature enough at that age to form an intelligent opinion on such a matter of moment - wisdom is what matters. Stop bellyaching fgs - you lost, get over it.
Their brains seem to be a lot more mature than the old people I've heard from..wittering on about the war and wanting to go back in time to an unspecified era where all was bunny rabbits and flowers.
Well find some new friends then, if you need friends; personally I don't, but if I did I wouldn't waste my time on small-minded halfwits.
Such incredible wisdom that many don't even know what the EU really is or what it does, its far easier to believe what you read in the Express or Mail than to actually think for yourself! But then if those kind of publications are reinforcing their deep rooted prejudices they are only to happy to lap it up! The younger voters tended to understand what it means to be part of the EU including the benefits that bestows (in comparison to the older generations) and voted accordingly, when people are voting out to "kick out immigrants" or "to take my country back" with only vague ideas about what that really means I think I would rather trust the youth with the future of this country if the alternative is isolationism and intolerance.
Of three reasons I heard in a pre-referendum tv interview which featured ‘the youth of this country’, one was that her primary persuasion for Remaining was that ‘The EU has made mobile phone roaming charges cheaper.’; another one said ‘The EU has prevented wars.’, and a third said ‘Holidays in Europe will be cheaper.’ Now if that doesn’t give us an idea of what ‘the youth of this country’ regard as important to them, nothing will!
