Yes my questions are rhetorical at this point. The only thing we know about any CCP is her statement he had one. How did she know is the question. And curious no other agency has reported they have one on file which should be a very quick and very routine look up.

You don't understand the issue. It makes no difference what state your CCW license has been issued. In the city of New York and it's Five Boroughs, that license is not valid. There is no reciprocity with the City of New York. In fact all long guns must be registered with the City. Although throughout the State of New York there is reciprocity with other States, so far.

Yes, Yanez told Castile to show his hands, instead Castile reached for his gun. Officer shot him. End of story. Good shoot. GF is likely lying. (See my other post of this woman & Castile smoking dope in her car with her infant).

The cop is Chinese and a short man.

I watched and listened to the girlfriends video with audio.

It seems like the dead guy was innocent.

But, let's look at a few things.

We know the guy killed announced to the cop he had a gun.

But does this remotely hint to the cop the gun will not be fired?

While his girlfriend keeps saying he had a permit to carry, was that even the issue for the cop?

Imagine your juices flowing as you pulled over a driver. And as you got by the car, you hear a guy telling you he is armed. Even with a permit, do you just say, oh well, he won't up and shoot at me?

I have no clue how this will turn out, but too many people reached a conclusion lacking all facts, all standard operating procedures the cops follow and on and on.

I am not defending the shooting. Experts will make up their minds.

I am saying, if you show a cop you have a gun on your hip or lap of the hip, plan on having serious problems. They have no clue if you plan to shoot them. Given the cop killings, the are running scared.

 

Supposedly he (Castille) said he had a permit for conceal carry. Now if Minnesota CCW laws are like the rest of the states, the weapon has to be concealed on the person not exposed. Possessing a CCW doesn't mean you can openly carry.

From photos I saw, Castille pistol wasn't concealed on his body but was exposed sitting next to him between the seats a violation of the law unless Minnesota is an open carry state.

Castille being stupid kept his drivers license in the glove compartment meaning he could have gone for the pistol that was sitting right next to him that was between Castille and his license.

I wonder where Castille CCW was ? With his license in the glove compartment ? Another violation of the law. The CCW has to be in your possession and on your person not sitting any other place in the car.

Here in California if you have a CCW and are inside the car, the handgun has to be concealed on your body. It can't be sitting next to you or inside your glove compartment. If inside the car it has to be inside a locked pistol case or inside the locked trunk of the car.

 

She said he told the officer for one thing. And if they'd dated awhile I'm sure she was aware of it.

No I was quite clear in what I said.

 

I have stopped people based upon a description before. Most of the time, it doesn't pan out because many times descriptions are sort of sketchy. But once in a while it does pan out. When it does, when your willingness to take a chance pays off, it's worth it. In those cases you could say the officer got lucky. But I would say the officer made his own luck.
