    You are in great company with a deistic outlook. Many of our founding fathers were deists; John Quincy Adams, Ethan Allen, Franklin, Jefferson, James Madison, Thomas Paine, and George Washington.

    I believe I too am what you call a deist.

    I am asked about multiple GODS but it is my expectation that GOD that created the universe is part of a family, not merely all by GODs self.

    There is a difference in GOD that created and any alleged god where men worship.

    I do not fault humans for worship of GOD. I have in my heart a special place for GOD.

    Oh the horror! Whatever will we do now that Atheists/Agnostics are controlling the scientific community! (sarcasm)

    This universe? Because other gods also created this universe. Their adherents say so, so it must be true.

    Can we extrapolate then, that these particular gods created this universe as a sort of joint venture property development?

    So...some people "believe" (blindly guess) that there are no gods involved in the REALITY of existence...and some people "believe" (blindly guess) there are no gods involved.

    Here's how I see it:

    I do not know if there is a GOD or if there are gods;
    I do not know if there are no gods;
    I see no reason to suspect gods CANNOT EXIST;
    I see no reason to suspect that gods MUST EXIST...that they are needed to explain existence;
    I do not see enough unambiguous evidence upon which to base a meaningful guess in either direction...

    ...so I don't.

    I like my take on the question better than either of the two others I mentioned.

    Good questions......
    AboveAlpha has stated that any true scientist will name themselves an Agnostic.....
    rather than an Atheist......
    if they are worth their salt... he stated......

    I don't think I've ever seen such a claim. This may be your interpretation of the variety of sciences undercutting the historical veracity of the bible or something…?

    There is no conflict between spirituality and science because at their most elemental level, they seek answers to different questions: one asks why, the other asks how.

    Dang it! I meant that there is no conflict between spirituality and science! Sorry about that! That must have been a confusing parse! Sorry!

    This post is stale dated so perhaps I replied last year.

    I do not today nor did I last year know your belief. I noted a lot think they do know Christian's beliefs thus do not agree with Christians. I tried to isolate GOD from any and all religion and stick to just GOD.

    I did expect Atheists to believe when man dies, he returns to the elements earth is composed of. I did not realize some do not think that way.

    To explain my thinking is that all depends on what Man is. Is man just a commonplace animal?

    Is Man also composed of what we see and that other part some call the soul?

    Given my life experiences, I opt to believe Man is both the animal but also the soul.

    Actually that goes along with the LDS teaching. But we still believe and accept the GOD and Jesus of the Bible. For all we know, Jesus could have talked to his own GOD father and not my GOD father in Heaven.

    Here is where it gets seriously tricky. To keep adding up GODS. If we think of GODS like we think of your own personal family of humans, then we have plenty of GODS. If we go back to a CREATOR, then there may be but one GOD the creator of all matter that exists.

    Which is to say that an amazing number of scientists blindly guess that the answer to the question, "Do any gods exist?"...is "Yes."

    Some of the others blindly guess that no gods exist.

    My guess is that most scientists do not make a guess...and simply acknowledge that they do not know.

    That is what Albert Einstein did.

    That is what Carl Sagan did.

    That is what Neil DeGrasse Tyson does.

    There is much about Quantum physics / mechanics I do not know. I don't deny they do exist though.;

    All questions deserve answers and you may not like the answers.

    First of all, I apologize for the laugh...if you heard it.

    Second...like you, I do not deny that they exist.

    I don't deny that there are people who blindly guess that gods exist...and other people who blindly guess that no gods exist.

    So I am not sure of your point?

    I've given my answer to the question, "Do gods exist?"

    My answer is, "I do not know...but I understand that some people want to blindly guess that at least one does...and others want to blindly guess there are none."

    What is wrong with that answer?

    Post 1, at your top, was to you. You don't know about GOD. I respect that and see why you do not know.
    Post 2 was to try to expose you to a woman that speaks of this topic at length.

    Oh Frank, I laugh plenty at many posts by mainly the ones claiming they represent what they call "Left wingers"

    A left winger can be spotted by his or hateful things said about Trump and often the loving things they said a lot about Obama.
