    http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/09/us/politics/gary-johnson-aleppo.html

Gary Johnson the Libertarian candidate for POTUS did not know what or where Alepo was / is. One can say that it was a senior moment for Gary J. That would be ok if Garybwas running for president of Whumppadong Rotary Club. Guess what guys Gary wants to be POTUS.

Did Gary Johnson screw his chances to gain a stature higher than someone asking " hey who is that guy from Liberia that us running for POTUS?".

Did Gary Johnson become less than a footnote in the 2016 election reason?

I think he cooked his Libertarian goose, but .......
    Thoughts?

Best part was New York Times not even knowing the capital of the Islamic State or Syria and had to correct themselves while they tried to make fun of Gary.

(*)(*)(*)(*) newspaper. And Gary is an idiot too.

This is a preview of what we'll see from liberal debate moderators who will attempt to trip up Trump. He can't be prepared for everything, so we'll see how it works.

Has anyone that every knew the capitals of these far flung regions and conflicts ever produced a positive outcome?

Obama knew the capital of Libya and killed their leader for no good reason. Power void that is probably cultivating all kinds of hostility in the region.
Bush knew the capital of Iraq and killed their leader for no good reason. Created power void that allowed a major security risk and ISIS to gain half the state.
We knew the capital of Iran and overthrew their leader...for no good reason. Created an enemy that would remember that affront for decades to come.
Reagan knew the capital of Afghanistan and funded radical muslims, a portion of which landed in the hands of Bin Laden. Gave way to rise of the Taliban.
We knew the capital of Vietnam and created a mess that their civilians have to deal with to this day...mines!

We are fighting a proxy war in Syria...and that is a good thing? Gracious. We have been fighting proxy wars with Russia since Vietnam.
We don't so much fight wars as just make huge messes in other peoples' countries. We have not fought a war on US land since when? I don't think you can count Pearl Harbor either.

Our record of foreign intervention and regime change is horrendous. And all the stewards of it knew the capitals of these countries.

Why are we in the business of regime change? Why do we care of a POTUS potential doesn't know a capital?

    Aleppo*
Aside from the fact that Johnson had very little chance of getting in the debates, alone the White House, now that slip-up guarantees both won't happen.

So, someone not knowing what Aleppo was is more dumb and unfit to be POTUS than someone who has had many classified briefings and teachings on the symbol (C) standing for "Classified"? Liberals love to be hypocrites.

    "Trip up" Trump?

How hard can it be to "trip up" somebody who can't figure 1+1 without a calculator?

I guess you're right on this, while Obama's visit to 57 American States was overlooked in 2008. One has to wonder why gotcha's only work in one direction. When our Affirmative Action POTUS misspells 'respect' as r'spect, calls Navy Corpsmen Corpse men. Then there's the famous Obama statement:

"It was also interesting to see that political interaction in Europe is not that different from the United States Senate. There's a lot of -- I don't know what the term is in Austrian, wheeling and dealing."

—Barack Obama, confusing German for ''Austrian,'' a language which does not exist, Strasbourg, France, April 6, 2009

All politicians make significant gaffes at one time or another. While Hillary has yet to own up to sniper fire in Bosnia, or her lies about Benghazi, and Classified material on her home brewed private server. Proving Hillary is a consummate Liar.

Meh, it was a bad moment. Can't blame the guy. It doesn't "disqualify" him.

Let's say he didn't solidify his chances at being more than a footnote.

He'll be fine. He'll just remind everyone about how he climbed Mount Everest.

I forgot about that. 02 deprivation at altitude can cause brief memory lapses for life.
