Trump calls African-American communities in the worst shape 'ever, ever, ever'

Yesterday, Donald Trump said “the nation's African-American communities ‘are absolutely in the worst shape that they’ve ever been in before, ever, ever, ever.’”*

Trump seems to be confident that his blatant appeal to deniers of American oppression of blacks, including White Supremacists and the Alt Right, will not hurt him.

Trump expects you to believe that during the years of slavery and the years of oppression in the segregated Jim Crow south, black communities were in better shape than they are now.

Why aren't more people horrified by this horrible man?

Politicians don't horrify me. They do disgust me, however, and Trump is by far the most disgusting politician I've ever seen. Makes Nixon look like an altar boy.

 

Nixon was tough and very intelligent. He came from humble beginnings and worked his way to the Presidency by sheer guts and determination. He made many mistakes but I really believed that he tried to do the right thing for America. Trump is a stooge and a sissy compared to old Dick Nixon. Nixon was 10 times the man than Trump will ever be.

Nixon had a modicum of empathy. And he could feel genuinely hurt. Trump could never give the Checkers speech, nor would he ever say, “You won't have Trump to kick around any more.”

Trump is like a large numbers of past despots. He seems almost incapable of humility, empathy, or remorse.

 

He has narcissistic personality disorder, albeit well-compensated since he has everything a narcissist could want, even a big self-portrait paid for by charity money.

I really don't think Trump is going back to the 1800's but Trump was raised in NYC and still remembers when black Harlem was a thriving black community. It's where hip whites went at night hitting the jazz and blues clubs and a white woman could walk down Lennox Blvd, at night.

Now I was raised in the South Bay of L.A. County but as a young one I remember that Central Avenue in South L.A. was a very thriving black community.

Back in the day most black men had real full time jobs, got married and raised a family. Every black child back then knew who his or her father was.

Something started changing in the 1960's. Does anyone know what it was ?

Today on Cwnral Ave, all of the jazz clubs and soul food and BBQ restaurants are gone, they have been replaced with taco trucks, crack head hookers, carnicerias and Mexican gangs fighting against the Crips and Bloods over a zip code.

During the era of slavery there was no such thing as an African American. or a black American citizen, Don't try to rewrite history, it's known as cutural-marxism aka revisionist history.

To be historically correct there was no such thing as an hyphenated African-American until some white beard scratching PC liberal coined the phrase during the late 1970's, It use to be Afro-American before it was black American before it was colored before it was negro. It was always a white liberal who decided what black Americans would be referred as.

Your interpretation of how whites/Americans have persecuted the blacks is not particularly what he's addressing; he's talking about the communities from within. Even in years of slavery, the black communities might have been very close-knit and positive, regardless of outside issues. That is a different issue.

But as usual I don't take every little embellishment from him as verbatim... He uses a lot of over-emphasis with his language, and I don't believe he is referring back to slavery.... but hey, maybe he is and I'm reading it incorrectly.
