    So you admit to operating in a bubble, and refuse to see reality because the Bubble distorts ones view of reality. So sad. Even worse when some one tries to show you what reality is you want to throw them in jail. Now that is truly sad but scarcely unexpected given the bubble you occupy.

    Let's review to see if the reasons David Horowitz are legitimate or racist.

    The issue isn't world slavery but instead is limited to addressing slavery in the United States. Based upon the US Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, all of the enumerated statutory and natural rights of the person are protected and based upon the 9th Amendment all of the natural rights of the person that are not enumerated are protected. Slavery in the United States violated the US Constitution because it violated both rights of the person protected by enumeration as well as natural rights of the person not enumerated in the Constitution.

    The "group responsible" is the government of the United States that failed to protect the Rights of the Slaves under the US Constitution and Bill of Rights once ratified that were violated by the Institution of slavery.

    The United States benefited and therefore the government of the United State benefited from slavery but not the slave nor have black Americans benefited since slavery was abolished because of the racial social, economic, and political oppression of blacks by the control of our social, economic, and political institutions by White (WASP) Men from before this country was founded up to and including today.

    Irrelevant because the "people" are not being held responsible because it was the government that failed to end the violations of the Statutory and Natural Rights of the Slaves. It will be the government that pays the compensatory and punitive damages because of slavery. As for the Union Soldiers that died it was their government as well that allowed the violations of the Constitution in allowing the institution of Slavery to continue after the ratification of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. While their sacrifice is appreciated the Civil War was merely a result of the United States government, their government as well as ours, failing to enforce the US Constitution. Had slavery ended with ratification of the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights the Civil War would never have occurred.

    Once again this is a false argument. Regardless of when someone immigrated to America they still voluntarily adopted the government of the Untied States accepting both the benefits and obligations of the United State government. This same argument could be used by a recent immigrant claiming that they don't owe taxes to pay the interest on the national debt because they didn't live here when the debt was created. It's a nonsense argument.

    The government of the United States is responsible for the reparations (compensatory and punitive damages) and not individual Americans. The liability is a shared liability for the United States government's failure to fully enforcing the US Constitution by allowing the Institution of Slavery to continue to exist in the United States. All American share in this liability.

    Prior precedent cannot be used because of the invidious definition of "black" under the slave laws in the United States that were based upon "one drop of black blood" as opposed the family lineage where an identifiable linkage, often absent in the post Civil War South due to White Supremacy where birth records were not created or retained by the "white" government over the black people. The only criteria we can use today is the same criteria established under the slave laws of "one drop of black blood" in establishing linkage to slavery.



    False - The argument for reparations is that the compensatory and punitive damages due to the slaves were never paid and because slavery was almost exclusively of black people in the United States that the compensatory and punitive damages be paid for by the responsible party, the US government, and that these awards for damages will be shared between the current black people of the United States. The only pragmatic means of paying the previously unpaid compensatory and punitive damages is to distribute those funds based upon the same criteria of "one drop of black blood" that was the legal definition for black slavery to continue after ratification of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

    Comparative analysis to societies outside of the United States is an invalid comparison. The United States government is not liable for nor can it benefit from this type of analysis.

    This effectively has nothing to do with the ongoing violations of the rights of blacks and while a very small percentage of blacks have over-come to a limited degree the economic oppression of blacks in America since the ending of slavery there are not statistical studies that indicate that blacks have ever overcome the social, economic, and political oppression even if a few managed to become wealthy. Even with wealth they still suffer social, economic, and political oppression in the United States today. Money doesn't buy equality for blacks (but money does buy supremacy for whites).

    Slaves were victims of the inaction by the US government and the continued racial oppression of blacks in America, that violates their Constitutionally protected rights is also due to the failures of the US Government to fully enforced the US Constitution and the amendments to it.

    Any person not protected by the United States government from violations of their statutory and/or natural rights is a victim. African-Americans have their statutory and natural rights violated on a daily basis because of extensive anti-black racial prejudice in the United States. so arguable they are victims in the United States. It is up to us to end the anti-black racial prejudice that violates the Rights of Blacks that makes them victims. Denying blacks victims of racism in America is a racist rationalization for their anti-black racial prejudice.

    Special treatment is not the goal of blacks in America. Equal treatment, that they've been denied, is what blacks in America seek. It's the racist that refers to equality for blacks "special treatment" but that's because the White Supremacist racists have never been subjected to unequal treatment in the United States. They don't want to be victims but instead want to be equals with the White Americans that have never suffered racial oppression.

    False. Government assistance to African-Americans is to mitigate the continuous effects of economic racial oppression against blacks in America due to White (WASP) Supremacy in our social, economic, and political institutions not the least of which are the violations of the Natural Right of Property that's responsible for poverty in the Unites States.

    Blacks have never been "equal" to Whites in the United States even though the political ideology of the United States and the US Constitution both require the equality. What happened in the rest of the world is irrelevant and the violations of the statutory and natural rights of blacks living in the United States can never be considered as being a "benefit" for black people.

    White Anglo-Saxon Protestant Christians were responsible for slavery in the United States. We don't give credit to those that address a problem of their own creation. In reality it is Secular Humanism based upon the natural rights of the person brings an end to slavery and not religion or even "white" people for that matter. Christianity has never been based upon the Natural Rights of the Person and, in fact, has a long history of violating those Rights.

    The United States has never provided equality for African-Americans, EVER. When that occurs the above might have some traction but without equality a person doesn't have the "Freedom" being referred to. In reality while the literal chains of slavery were removed the invisible chains of economic slavery still exist in the United States because of the social, economic, and political oppression of blacks in the United States because of White Supremacy in our social, economic, and political institutions.

    In the end we can only conclude that David Horowitz is a racist because the 10 reasons he provided are nothing more than rationalizations for racism and the historic oppression of blacks by the tyranny of White (WASP) Male Supremacy in the United States.

    Not sure this is true. Greed, according to Adam Smith, is the sole motivation of the capitalist (owner of enterprise). In Adam Smith's words from the Wealth of Nations, "(The Capitalist) intends only his own security; and by directing that industry in such a manner as its produce may be of the greatest value, he intends only his own gain." The Capitalist is driven only by greed. If it were not for the greed of the Capitalist in America there would be no "working poverty" because the Capitalist, based upon their own greed, intentionally under compensates those they employ to the point that they can't fund their minimum-mandatory expenditures. The Capitalist is effectively profiting for the labor stolen from their employees. Over 40 million households in the United States are forced to live in poverty because of the greed of the Capitalists that profit while their workers can't fund even their minimum-mandatory expenditures. I wouldn't call greed a minor problem nor do I see it being self-limiting. If it wasn't for the minimum wage many capitalists would pay their workers far less.

    The lust for power most certainly exists but it's relatively confined to very few people. Additionally it quite easy for society to prevent those that seek excessive power from attaining too much power. The question is whether the tyranny of a few based upon the attainment of power is more damaging than the tyranny that comes from greed. Hitler is gone and while he was responsible for massive tyranny resulting in the deaths of tens of millions but the world was able to bring it to an end. The tyranny created by the greed of the capitalist, left unchecked by government, endures forever.

    I'd call it a toss-up myself.

    But the greed of the capitalist is limited by the fact that he has to have customers and that stiffing them is a bad idea that will eventually put him out of business, and screwing over your work force is an equally bad idea. The greatest single asset any business can have is the good will of it's work force. The only people that can screw you up worse than customers are your workers. Keeping both happy is the best way to make a profit over the long haul.

    What is the epitome of stupidity is that we did not learn from that. Instead we are, once again, staring down the barrel of the gun of nuclear war. What a pity it is that we have leadership who are blind, and under the influence of lust, anger and greed, have led the world to this very dangerous point. They had better wake up and change their ways before it is too late.

    The problem is that the greed of capitalists, that think that greed is good, is unlimited. Such persons are never satisfied, no matter how much they have. Therefore they use their wealth to spread their influence more, and more and more. They spread it into the political sphere to control politicians who will enact policies to increase their wealth and defend their wealth, even through the use of military force. They game the government to profit from the increase in weapon sales. They game the government to profit from the instigation of unnecessary wars. Their arrogance, like their greed, has no limit, and is leading the world to ruin.

    Exactly backwards Business folk get embroiled in politics because the politicians make it clear that a failure to do other wise is bad for their economic well being. Microsoft did no lobbying and it;s political expenses were nil prior to the Clinton justice departments ludicrous assault on Microsoft. Afterwards more than a million a year.It's protection money purely and simply.

    No you got it backwards. No one forces businessmen to get involved in politics. They do it as a result of their greed to create profit, to increase profit, and defend profit.

    Thus, no one here has any responsibility, and no one here has any claim.
    So... there's no sound argument for reparations.

    So because we are in capitalism every most have access to capital for the system to work? If you have folks with no $$$ then that puts a big dent in the system? So you feel that is one of the reasons things don't flow properly? Just making sure we're on the same page.

    Ok. I see where you're going with it. Not sure I agree but I understand. I've said for years that food stamps aren't to help people eat but to keep the system going. Because the grocery stores use the $$ to buy more product. Which in turn generates tax revenue. This stuff can be complicated. But reparations for minorities are in order to make the system work.
