Here we go again with the political correctness. Did this guy sue to stop the Lone Ranger from playing in Canada because a white guy played the role of an Indian? Does he file a lawsuit every time the Village People go up there to perform? How about F Troop, are reruns of that show banned?

a lot of things are offensive to me in life, other people cherish them... its a good thing being offensive isn't illegal, well, yet... I suspect both sides would like to outlaw several things after this election cycle, but I would find it fascinating to see how they would impose a ban like this, would the mounties confiscate the offending material once the team flies in, or would they be banned from even entering the country until they formally agree to not wear them... if the country forbids them from even entering, it could mean automatic wins for the indians since it was the host not permitting them entry, at least as I understand baseball rules... that would really help the indians and hurt the bluejays every single year, I suspect the indians wouldn't want to comply at that point... I mean why not take the easy wins without the cost of travel... thats efficient baseball...

The Jersey does make the depiction of Native Americans look like an idiot cartoon character so if it offends a particular tribe or Native American nation, why is it your business or concern?

Obviously the term "Blue Jays" is highly offensive as it doesn't support an inclusive environment in which the multiculturalism of all birds is celebrated.

They should immediately change their name to the Toronto Bird Team.

How long will the outrage continue?

I can't wait for the progressive war on cartoon characters. Oh wait that's already happened.

WTF is wrong with sports and those who name them I wonder. Why can't they just put their city's name on the Jersey and then, just put something generic?

"The Boston Guys." "Dallas Men/People/Baseball Players" "New York Hockey Dudes"

Can be gender friendly too .... "New York Girls and Guys Basketball Team." (My fav, has a ring to it for sure.)

See how easy it is, and, kinda catchy too.

    (Poes Law intended.)

Think about this for a moment, this guy is upset over an Indian, there are no Indians in the Americas, just people mistaken for them

well I'm not sure what angle you're trying to get at here, I know several native americans, not the Elizabeth Warren 1/32nd type, but native americans who are as close to full blood as one could be after generations of people dipping their toe in and out of the pool... one of them lives on one of the reservations up north in wisconsin, he's an old classmate, his entire family would not be mistaken for a white person at all, its quite clear the dominate genetic pool they come from, he's also the reason why I know how horrible many of the reservations are and why I want to see them dismantled, but I also understand his point about how that would likely end his culture as there would no longer be concentrated sources of their genetics spreading among each other instead of intermingling in the world like my own genetics have been watered down...

P.S. I would also argue, as a result of my friend introducing me to a lot of native knowledge, why do MANY native tribes, used themselves as mascots, if its so wrong... if its wrong to use themselves as mascots, you would see all the tribes across america stop doing it, but they don't, they only dislike it when others use them as mascots... literally discrimination, its okay if they do it, but nobody else gets to do it... its the irony I love... you'd be surprised to know how many native schools in america are called "the warriors" as a team mascot...

That is a good point. We all have every right to feel offended by whatever we choose. The real problem comes into play when we expect others to care.

They should be more worried that they can't win a game and will be eliminated. So moot point...
