What's up with you and this obsession with running down Russia? Seems a bit pathological.

From what I understand, Russia made a choice after the end of the cold war, that given their resources they could not compete with the US in a traditional fashion. So they had to be smart and spend limited resources in smart and efficient ways. Since they have no plans to conquer western Europe they needed a defensive force, and put emphasis on missile technology, spending their money there. They needed to modernize their military because of the movement of nato forces towards their borders with no good reason behind it, unless they wanted to threaten Russia. This was after Bush Sr had promised that NATO would not move to Russian borders, and after russia was turned down in joining nato.

But to listen to some people Russia is gearing up to conquer western Europe, another hitler and Nazi Germany. This is the most outlandish story ever created and one has to wonder why it is being done. What drives it? Is it because Russia will not relent to western elite vampire capitalists? Who are striving for hegemony? Is it because of china and Russia looking to create a competing currency to the petro dollar? AH, that may be one of the reasons. Look what happened to Gafafi when he was working on a gold back currency for north Africa which would be needed to buy his high quality oil. Got a bayonet rammed up his arse and died a horrible death. Which by the way Hillary cackled like a witch when she told the story of his death.

The MIG-29 entered Russian military service in 1982. It's a 34 year old airplane, and despite it's age is still going strong.
The first F-35 rolled off the production line in 2006. To date it hasn't flown a single combat mission, has failed most of it's reliability tests and is basically a $1.4 Trillion Yugo with wings.

What's happened?

Well, for the last decade or so what' happened is that the US & NATO have become the agents of perpetual war and destruction. They have become hated in much of the world, as Barack The Gunslinger has spent his entire 8 years in office killing innocents at weddings and funerals with his drones. You might not be sufficiently observant to understand this, but the rest of the world is.
