Well yes it is embarrassing simply because nepotism is immoral, but I suppose he receives credit for understanding that this is how Donald Trump functions, family and friends first...in business and obviously in public office also. I think it's tasteless for Turnbull to make this public... he should have kept his and Donald's "nepotism" under wraps, but then again they're all excessively wealthy and probably think nothing of it. What I'm wondering is.... wasn't this the sort of thing (old boys network) what the American people voted against? Because it's starting to look like it's worse than ever.
If I was Trump I would reprimand Norman for giving Turnbull the number. If I was a VIP I would not give Norman my number in case he passed it on to a third party. Tip: If you have a telephone number do not pass it on to third parties. If you do make sure this fact is not known.

This happens all the time in the world in general, just no one usually bothers to write an article about it because it's not very interesting. Of course their usual contacts were going to fail because Trump isn't your average Washington insider. The only surprising thing is how late they left it.
I suspect Norman has not done himself any favors. The price Norman will pay for being a "big note" and thinking he is sitting at the same table as an American President.
We tend to forget that California, Texas, and New York each have more people than Australia. He'll, even in our local area - Indonesia has 15x as many people as us. Our significance to the US is strategic and cultural. We spend a lot of our GDP on our military, toe the US policy line and follow them into whatever idiot war they have planned, and we're white with a strong Western culture. So we have more clout than our population would suggest. But this can only take us so far. Plenty of western cultures around.
