I doubt those into politics think Trump will push to much to the Right. But what you describe is what has taken place with the Demos and the left. Of course thinking they were the elite and the privileged class or that they are above the law. Will do that.

not unless the dems get their act together, all indications at the moment is that they are running farther and farther left. If Trump's plans for the economy pan out then 2020 is lock for the GOP and 2024 will be the earliest that the dems have a shot. By mid to late 2016 we will see how Trumps presidency is going, until then any thoughts of 2018, 2020 and beyond are just wishful thinking and rambling on both sides of the aisle

You're the one who made a prediction for 2020. I'm making one on the first female President.

Before you go claiming the demise of the democrat party just remember they said the same thing about republicans in 2008

and thansk to the tea party movement we grabbed control of the house in 2010 by addressing the heart land who are center to center right. Until I see some indication the Dems kick the progressives to the side and address the middle class I am not losing sleep over 2018 or 2020 unless Trumps first 6 months are an abject failure. So far it looks like he is ready to steamroll the main issues with the full bi partisan co operation of Congress and the elimination of Obama's executive order legislation. All we nee now id ted Cruz on the Supreme Court to ice the cake

You guys on the left and in the media have not made an accurate projection in 18 months so if I just grin at your posts please understand

Just in the last 2 weeks the projections of Trump flailing in cabinet picks and choosing nothing other than old white men have been spectacularly wrong. Whats the latest BS claim going to be that I can laugh about next week when it also turns out to be pure BS?

The average time between recessions is only 6 years. We are already past that. There was only one expansion that lasted 10 years, under Bill Clinton (we are already at 8 years now).

With the stock market at high P/E ratios, consumer debt still at very high levels, and consumer demand low, there are still significant indicators against 4 more years of expansion, although the tax cuts may possibly buy 4 years of economic fire that will rapidly burn itself out.

So, reversion to the mean tells you that it is more likely than not that there will be a recession within Trump's term. My guess would be that the next recession will be attributed to Trump's policies. So, I wouldn't be so quick to rule out a Dem comeback.

As to the topic, I think she is the first of his picks who is decent. At least she doesn't seem to be a UN "denier" unlike Bolton. And she seems to be smart and possibly a fast learner.

If that's what the Dems are taking away from all this, they're bigger fools than I suspected.

As others have said, she's worked in the foreign arena, just not in a political role. This is a great position for her resume and her future ambitions; she and Trump both know that. The woman has a very bright future.

Agreed. Haley is a solid pick on a number of different levels. Thus far, the Trump transition team has managed to do quite well.

repatriation of the overseas corporate dollars and renegotiation of trade deals could easily stretch the economic recovery out far longer

I don't see why she'll necessarily do badly. You don't need lots of FP experience to do FP, though it doesn't hurt to have experience in government. Being able to deal with Machiavellian machinations can be taught in any byzantine environment, it seems.

Why?? There is already too much capital sloshing around looking for safe return. That's why interest rates are so low.

Getting more capital back to the US where it is not invested due to lack of demand won't change that situation.

That's the problem with the GOP supply side strategy. To them, that's the only tool they understand. And to that hammer (tool) everything looks like a nail. But, lack of capital is not what currently holds back the economy. So, why would more supply side economics work?

Agreed. This was a really stupid pick. There are far more qualified women out there who don't cater to PC causes.

there has been really no reason to invest where in the United States which has the third highest general top marginal corporate income tax rate in the world, at 38.92 percent. I am not an economist by any means to me it is a lot of voodoo and smoke and mirrors. however common sense tells me to build where the government is picking my pocket the least and certainly no reason to bring any capitol back to a country where the government is just going to take the lions share of it just because I brought it back. that is the problem with leftists, no common sense

As long as she doesn't cave in to political correctness like she did in 2015 then I can get onboard with her.

No need to be racist. If Trump follows through on his promises then he will be the "second coming" of Reagan '84.

A month ago y'all were telling us that we should be used to losing. Don't be too quick to think the pendulum will swing back that fast. Last time a party didn't serve two terms back to back was '77 to '81 when (D) Jimmy Carter was president. Before him was Grover Cleveland in the late 19th Century.

She wont be able to outmatch the Russians, nor outwit them. Nor the Asians, nor the Saud and Sunni. So we will be at a disadvantage.

Which doesn't count all the Libs in Europe.

    - - - Updated - - -

Looks like they are winners after this Election. Do keep up with reality.

    - - - Updated - - -

And now she will have to cater to all of Europe's dogma.

Especially with the Europeans.....I don't think we have to worry about Russia, the Sunni or China being all PC like.
