A fairly remote Colorado town has approved teachers carrying firearms in their schools. The they are twenty minutes from the closest law enforcement. The teachers will be trained.

    Good idea in my opinion.

    You?

I think any teacher that has a concealed carry license should be able to carry in school. They should never disclose to students that they carry.

Trust me, it won't take long for the students to find out.

How. Concealed means concealed. I've carried for about 7 years and no one but my family and the students in my firearms instruction classes know.

I would know if you were carrying or not in about 30 seconds. In a classroom you are in close personal contact. You brush up against students, they brush up against you. You are raising your arms, bending over. In the lower grades they are still grabbing you, hugging you and such.

    Fantastic Idea.

Does Obama's kids have armed guards around?

Are his kids worth more than yours?

I disagree, but only slightly. I believe before a teacher is allowed to carry in a school they should have a CC Licence and Cleet training or some hours of additional training as required by the school system. I've taken the CC class and know many people that have and it really only deals with the laws of the land and small situational scenarios. I believe for the school atmosphere there should be additional training involved.

Two more, South Carolina. Oh yeah, and most teachers are women and wear dresses.

Two questions for anyone considering the topic in the OP
Do you believe that school shootings are a problem in this country?
If so, how can you be against the adults in the school having the capacity to effectively defend themselves and their students with lethal force?

(The answer is simple, of course: you believe the state should have a monopoly on force; any time a citizen has the capacity to defend himself or others with deadly force, this monopoly is jeopardized)

More guns should solve the problem of gun violence.

For school shootings, yes, this is true.

Over 41,000 new firearms are purchased by those legal to own guns every day. Its not the legal firearm owners are jacking up the gun homicide stats.

Ankle holsters, thigh holsters, pocket holsters, shoulder holsters, and bra holsters. I've hugged hundreds of people in church and not one noticed my gun. My preacher's wife knows I carry and thought she felt my gun under my suit and called me on it. It was my I-pad mini that I use for a Bible at church.

My favorite teacher in HS was a Vietnam-service Marine.
    He did not hug.

He didn't have a lot of little old widow ladies as friends. Old folks have interesting stories and a lot of wisdom to share. Some make a pretty decent batch of cookies as well.

My wife hugged our Sunday school teacher and noticed his gun. We figured that he carried. He is a retired major who spent 7 years as a POW in Hanoi.

Yep, most folks think they are way more concealed than they actually are. Unless you are wearing a jacket of some sort you probably aren't. Down here anyone wearing a jacket is assumed to be armed.

    Clearly.

We obviously have more guns and less crime now.

Maybe it's because we've been permanently ending the careers of violent felons in the thousands each year?

Maybe we're running out of violent people?

Teachers have been armed for many years in many states already. This isn't new.
