Civil Wars are rarely fought over a simple cultural distinction. It's only fought if one group feels that their culture is under attack. Proof: American Civil War, Indo-Pakistani tensions (technically not a Civil War but kinda sorta a civil warlike problem), and Captain America (had to throw that one in there).

So yea, while American culture differs all through the nation, it's not like one group is pushing their culture upon anyone else (arguable, yes, but true nevertheless). While people may not really respect certain cultures, like Latino culture in America, no one is forcing them to change their culture. In fact, a lot of the times, they sorta welcome it. Like, a northerner will go to the South for their food, because it's different. And someone will go to Southern Texas for the Tex-Mex. Or the West for the Hollywood culture and Vegas. And with the urbanization and globalization with the Internet, the nation is becoming more and more similar. The South, for example, is truly fading away. Very rarely do I hear southern accents anymore, and southern culture is starting to disappear as well. If anything, I think the nation is becoming more tight-knit.

Fox news is a little wierd, a little less professional than CNN. I like it more but it's just as biased as Fox news, only clinical and more professional.

Fox focuses more on national issues and slamming Obama. Also they are very pushy with their agenda

CNN focuses more on international issues.

It is often fought over internal differences. Look at the Yugoslav wars, or the war in the Ukraine. The civil war.

Don't you hate it when the pro-Democrat Pro-liberal media has its monopoly challenged?

There is one reason why Fox News dominates cable ratings and why Drudge Report LEADS all Internet published media outlets Left or Right. They tend to default to TRUTH-TELLING; something the the Left and their media outlets stopped doing long, long ago.

There is a reason mainstream politicians don't even mention civil war. It would be political suicide. Support for civil war among Americans is about as fringe as you can get.

We can just mutually agree to go our separate ways like adults you know. I hope I live long enough to see the look one Wall Street's face when Mid-Atlantica imposes its export tax on them.

I agree. It is fringe, and it is a lunatic fringe. Our only civil war was driven by several interests but the primary interest of course concerned what starts most wars...money. Read War is a Racket and Confessions of an Economic Hit Man to see what money drives.

The South's elites and their economy was based upon slavery . You would destroy the southern elites if you put an end to slavery. So seceding from the Union was what they had to do and that was just not gonna happen without a fight, which yielded the bloodiest and most loss of American lives of any war we have ever fought.

But this talk of a civil war does not involve our elites and their money. It involves petty emotion driven differences in ideology and values. Abstractions, not gold.
