F.B.I. Arrests Volkswagen Executive on Conspiracy Charges in Emissions Scandal!

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Volkswagen executive who faces charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States, two people with knowledge of the arrest said on Sunday, marking an escalation of the criminal investigation into the automaker’s diesel emissions cheating scandal.

This is a little unusual in that a major car dealership actually has someone arrested for something illegal that they did in the line of duty. Usually they get fines or the person's fired and it's dismissed. Its only part of the broader problem of corporations exploiting or lying to make money.

Correct, because the CEO of Volkswagen was fired and get a retirement wage of 1,500 EUR per day since then.
I know no manager who ever had to pay for the crimes and mistakes he did and which costs many jobs and the company a bunch of money.

However... I hope the FBI will do the same soon against all other criminal manager of all companies ... starting with the US car manufactures too, because they did not better as VW ... only smarter in hiding. Or did some decades ago the manager of Ford went to jail because with will and knowledge unsafe gas tank in car which explodes at crashes often, due to be cheaper in production?

Don't hold your breath on that. Our government bailed out GM.
Funny thing about Germany. Your socialists don't do much on air pollution on cars. I have a friend who was in the military. He said you don't want to roll down your window in the city over there b/c the smog is so bad.

Since 30 years was no smog again in Germany ... or was your friend in the 1970's in Germany?

We are fighting against pollutions in Germany which you in the US even don't know they exist in meantime...

Why care for emissions when global warming is a farce in the first place?

Jail Time for White Collar Crime too.
It is about individual responsibility and the loss of Freedom,
not fines held against the stock holders and deferred raises for employees.

Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic,
regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.
