My hatred and contempt for nanny-state liberalism grows and grows, and each story like this adds fuel to the fire of my anger.

What the hell gives the mayor of New York the right to tell people they can't give food to the homeless?

Charity is a Christian obligation, specifically "feed the hungry." Once again, government is interfering with practice of religion.

When will we ever put a stop to the strangling of our country with ever-increasing liberal-inspired government interference?

The only solution is to defeat liberals at every level of government, federal, state, county, and city and keep them out of power forever.

This is just pathetic. A billionaire dictates that home cooking is just not good enough and that only big gov is capable of feeding the poor. What a crock. Just more looney east coast liberal BS that tax payers will end up paying for.

Can't they sign a release or something? Why was it others were permitted to cook for OWS?

What a friggin' joke. I agree with the sentiments already expressed, Bloomberg is a tool.

Really now,.... who thinks the homeless really give a (*)(*)(*)(*) if the free food that helps sustain them meets some sort of stringent health guidelines? Too far nutters... too far...

We have a program in my region that allows hunters to donate game meat to shelters. A win for common sense.

We need to go back to a Constitutional convention and add a whole bunch of new amendments restricting what government can do.

It should be made clear that the government cannot force people to buy something they don't want.

It should be made clear that the government cannot interfere with or outlaw acts of charity.

It should be made clear that the govrernment cannot outlaw the growing of food.

It should be made clear that the government cannot set wage or price controls.

It should be made clear that the government cannot deprive churches of their First Amendment rights as a condition of tax-free status.

I'm sure I could add at least 100 more things to this list, but that's a good start.

Good list, I agree with everything except for this:

True enough, the market self regulates, but not always before the unscrupulous do their damage.

New York City to Add Homeless Shelters
February 28, 2017 — New York City would open about 90 new homeless shelters in five years under a plan unveiled Tuesday, but would wind down the practice of putting up some homeless people in hotels and private apartments. The $300 million plan is Mayor Bill de Blasio's latest effort to deal with a stubborn surge in homelessness in the last decade.

odd that you would call a Jew a Nazi. Nazis never tried to tell people what to eat. However Jewish Bolshevicks starved millions to death in the Holodomor
