Define your "progressive agenda" please. I wasn't around for the dozens of posts, but you don't sound capital whatever independent, you sound like a liberal.

Can you convince me otherwise, what is your agenda?

 

Let me ask this: Why do you lean towards advocacy for a progressive agenda? What kind of future have the progressives promised? Social Security? Medicaid, Medicare? Basically the IV sticking through our arms that prevent us from soaring into the skies? That to me is not a future, it's a future of mediocrity where the US will never attain its former glory and status ever again. The conservatives don't have any answer either, but I'll be damned if we accept a world of "Social Justice Warriors" and the racism that comes out of their mouths. Yes, they're the racist ones if they read their own literature.

 

I frankly do not care what you have or have not been around for...and I do not care how I sound to you.

I am telling you that I am registered as an Independent. If you want to think I am lying..knock yourself out. Your opinion on that does not matter to me.

Why would I want to convince you of something like that?

I am a registered Independent because I do not want to be a member of either of the major political parties...or any of those minor parties that exist.

If you are asking if I favor liberal policy over American conservative policy...I would answer that any sane human being would...and I consider myself sane. So, YES...I DEFINITELY FAVOR MOST LIBERAL POLICY OVER MOST AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE POLICY.

I'm not a conservative, I even said they don't have any answers. You can't call them policies, because to have a policy you'd have to have an answer. I consider Liberal policies to be an abomination to America's ideals. The ideals that we can all pursue life, liberty and happiness but to do so, we must be forced to buy health care!

Or again, the IV in our arm. It'd be better to actually eliminate the causes of poverty, then for more anchor programs that keep the US from sailing ahead. But without those programs, the Liberal Agenda doesn't exist. Liberalism is 'Soft Totalitarianism' in its application.

Yes, being completely left or right ideologically does not require individualistic thinking at all. And if you want to call yourself a member of either tribe you stop thinking, and just parrot what you are supposed to say. The last thing you do is to ever question anything coming from your tribe. For then the tribe will call you a DINO or a RINO. So, thinking for oneself is forbidden as you claim you are an individual. This is why I saw long ago being a member of either tribe renders a wasted brain. To be a purist is to be basically an idiot. Yet it makes most of us happy to embrace purity, even if we have to shut down critical thinking in order to do it. For some people actually trying to think as an individual makes the head hurt. So, we just parrot WHAT we are told we should be thinking. Then the repetition creates our facts.

What are of the causes for poverty? And of course there are several. Physical disabilities is one Lower intelligence is another. Laziness is another. Drug dependency including alcohol is another. Mental illness another. And then of course capitalism has unemployment cooked into it. Some of these might be eliminated but some cannot be. And there is another cause that is approaching, AI, robotics will eventually replace much of the service sector and manufacturing jobs. We will reach a point where perhaps 20 percent of our population will be all that is needed to provide goods and services for this society. Mass unemployment which means little or no income. How would you eliminate this?

 

You'll have to handle that poster with a grain of salt. Not a lot of knowledge based logically held stances, and the inability to accept an intelligent response makes them a poor forum discussion partner.

I think that once the elections are over and the winner has been declared, that it is very important that all supporters of unsuccessful candidates should accept defeat, take it on the chin and get enthusiastically behind the new incumbant, so that the country can stick together for the sake of the children..........

Another problem that should be addressed is to stop the increase in population from immigration, what good does it do an already stressed economy and job market if breeder nations are gone unchecked and then allowed to replace the population being controlled, that would be genocide!

If your theory is sound then there is no time to waste, the quicker this is addressed the less it will effect! I'll leave the choice of who gets to stay and who has to go
