Stanford University was able to reproduce how the music and chants sounded in the ancient Cathedral of Saint Sophia (Holy Wisdom) in Constantinople during the age of Justinian. There were 1000 priests, plus deacons,deaconesses, chanters, etc.
Whatever someone is raised with I guess. I like Orthodox hymns since I was raised with them, but somehow I don't like the Byzantine chants of Constantinopol, even though they are more authentic. I like old Turkish music though.
Well, I was raised Roman Catholic, but I gave it up for Lent many years ago. I just found it good & soothing... A great tune to fall into blissful slumber to. I could really get into this stuff..... I have to admit, after a good dose of THC, it enhances the effects.
