Muslim Leaders In Manchester Are Fearful That Their Communities Will Experience A Backlash
Leaders of the biggest Muslim community centres said they have been working from the early hours to reassure community members.

Imams from mosques in Manchester, after gathering Tuesday to offer prayers for the families and victims of a terror attack in their hometown, have expressed fears of a backlash on Muslim communities.

With images of a suspected arson attack on a mosque circulating on social media in the wake of the suicide bombing, which killed 22, Nazmul Hussain, principal of Oldham Islamic College, told BuzzFeed News they were anticipating a rise in hate crime.

Hussain, who confirmed the attack with Imam Faruq Noorani of Willow Street Mosque, said: "I feel shocked."

He said that before Monday's attack, "hate crime is increasing now, graffiti, small leaflets”. He added: “When terror attacks happen, mosque attacks happen. There's correlation."

It was a sombre afternoon at Victoria Park mosque, where 24 imams, councillors, and academics offered their prayers for the victims of Monday’s attack. Like others in Manchester, many were parents who were expecting anxious questions from their children when they got home in the evening.

But first there were community events, interfaith vigils, and media engagements to attend as they urged their communities to get in touch with authorities if they had any information. None of them had heard of the suspected attacker, named by police as Salman Abedi, who was born in the UK after his parents arrived from Libya.

Leading the prayers was Imam Irfan Chishti, who called for unity and not allowing division or hate to form within the community.

"Oh Allah, innocent young children died simply for going about their own lives,” he said in Arabic. “Oh Allah, we ask you to allow those people, the perpetrators of this, the evil, evil people, to be brought to justice."

It was a sentiment echoed by each leader, who, as well as grieving for the victims, offered words of comfort to each other.

They told BuzzFeed News they had been up all night discussing the community response – such as organising signatures for a joint letter of condemnation – as well as trying to find out more detail of what had happened.

Musa Naqvi, the secretary general of the Manchester Council of Mosques, which represents 70 mosques, and who works for the NHS, said his wife had told him an arrest was made close to his family home and was staying indoors. He said: "I never thought this would happen in Manchester."

"There's a sense of panic in the community. People at work are really quiet and everyone's in a sense of shock," he said, adding he knew there were Muslim parents who had taken their children to the concert.

When asked why community leaders felt the need to get together for events like these, Manchester city councillor Rabnawaz Akbar said it was about “showing grief for the children... those parents... and offer[ing] thoughts and prayers and is a tribute to local residents."

    Aisha Gani / BuzzFeed News
Muslims in Manchester have joined the wider community in giving blood, offering free rides in their taxis, and donating packaged meals for emergency services.

Akbar added: "We are telling [terrorists] you want us to be divided and we won't be divided. We will live, study, and will continue to work.”

Chishti also had a stern message for critics of Prevent, the government’s counterextremism strategy.

Admitting people would not like what he had to say, he said he was “sick” of people not cooperating with the programme because of politics. "To hell with politics,” he said. “This is about people's lives."

Hassan Hassan, the communications officer at Al-Furqan mosque, said: "It is a sad situation – having to always read [about attacks like this] – but we have to respond. Like others say, what makes us stronger is when we come together and put the record straight.”

"Everyone here has got children,” he added. “Manchester is a small family. We received messages from the schools to collect our children straight away and they will ask questions."

For Mufti Subhani, the attack has brought back painful memories of losing family members in Pakistan who were killed by the Taliban. Describing how he had lent his shoulder to carry the bodies of four loved ones, he added: "Last night I couldn't watch the images on the TV." The attack took place just a 10-minute drive from the home he shares with his wife and children.

Faiz Rasul, the chairman of Victoria mosque, was visibly distressed when talking about the events of the day. "This is an attack on future generations," he said. "An attack on humanity."

So everyone believes in the Hebrews' God, Yahweh.

Exodus 3:18 (ERV) = “The elders will listen to you. And then you and the elders will go to the Pharaoh. You will tell him, ‘Yahweh is the God of the Hebrews. He came to us and told us to travel three days into the desert. There we must offer sacrifices to Yahweh our God.’

...and the corollary of what I'd said is that when you CEASE to tolerate a thing, you'll have to endure LESS of it....

That great big "epistemological self-awareness" thing that I began puzzling over thirty years ago is emerging now, right before my eyes. Now I can finally see the future clearly -- swarms of idiot Millennials, "inclusively" installed on Muslim prayer rugs five times a day, pawing at their 'smart' phones while they listen to commandments by the Islamic priesthood to go out and murder the "Infidels". What a pathetic, nauseating joke all of us in "the West" have become!

Living with "the Caliphate"? I can think of no better reward for a brain-washed people who have slavishly and stupidly allowed themselves to believe that "inclusiveness" with a dangerous mental disease like Islam is ever going to bring about any kind of improvement in civilization. And, I'm happy in the realization that I probably won't have to live long enough to see the worst of it myself. Death will be a pleasant alternative to being forced to live in an insane, "inclusive" madhouse with a "peaceful" religion like Islam....

Charge your 'smart' phone batteries, children... you'll have a lot to "share" with your little friends as you watch all this come to full fruition... but when the time comes, be ready to accept Islam's toxic, insane teachings and beliefs right in your own society, today, in the 21st-century! You do want to be "inclusive", don't you...? :hippie:

Don't you mean that you have faith?

Because obviously you didn't come to your conclusions on human nature by studying scientific literature. You had a belief and just assumed it was science.

    Belief first, rationalization later.

Thank you for not saying Christians today are just as deadly as Muslims.

Presbyterians and Lutherans rarely drive trucks into crowds trying to maximize the death toll in the name of their God.

Ariana Grande is cute and seems like a nice girl. I'm glad those evil terrorists didn't get her. This tragedy saddens my heart and I hope the of English government takes appropriate actions to protect their people and not treat this as a natural disaster.

Yeah! real religion of peace like so many would have you believe. Muslims turn a blind eye towards the evil among them and they need to start turning these animals in when they know or hear something about Terrorist plans

idiot Millennials were not fortunate ones who were raised in a time when the rich were merciful to the peasants, because their fathers saved them from the nazi's in world war 2.

Millennials were raised in the era of greed from the rich, where worshiping smart fones, judaism, and islam, is much more attractive than the christianity which made America great.

senior citizens will indeed have their cake and eat it too, while the millenials make the most of what crumbs are left.

‘Devastated’ Ariana Grande Met by Family as She Arrives in Florida Following Concert Terrorist Attack: ‘She Just Wants to Be with Loved Ones Right Now’

Ariana Grande has arrived back in the States following the devastating terrorist attack after her Manchester Arena show in the U.K. Monday evening.

The singer, 23, was photographed landing in Boca Raton, Florida, where she was greeted by family at the airport, PEOPLE confirms.

“It’s so, so sad. She loves her fans and is absolutely crushed and devastated as you can imagine,” a source close to Grande tells PEOPLE. “She can’t believe this happened. She just wants to be with her family and loved ones right now.”

What began as a fun night out ended in tragedy when a suicide bomber blew himself up after Grande’s concert, killing 22 and injuring at least 59.

The audience in Manchester included many children and teens, with their accompanying parents, and after the blast, eyewitnesses described to PEOPLE a scene of chaos and fear.

Chief Constable Ian Hopkins of Greater Manchester Police said the explosion occurred around 10:33 p.m. local time near the ticket office outside the arena. Police believe the suspect, who is dead, is Salman Abedi, 22, said Hopkins, though he has not been formally identified by the coroner.

In addition to Abedi, greater Manchester Police said they have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the incident, according to the Associated Press.

“Broken,” Grande tweeted late Monday night. “From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.”

The popstar’s team is currently assessing whether or not to continue her Dangerous Woman Tour following an attack at her Manchester Arena show Monday night that left 22 dead, but, “as of right now, the tour is not canceled,” a source close to the situation tells EW.

“Right now, the focus is on the victims and grieving for them. We’re not focused on the tour,” the source adds. The source also clarified that Grande herself is physically “fine,” though “she’s just absolutely beside herself.”

Grande is slated to perform at London’s O2 arena on Thursday and Friday, but the shows remain up in the air, with the venue tweeting, that they do not yet have an update as to whether or not the singer’s performances would happen as planned.

Was Ariana Grande targeted? Former Jihadist says ISIS saw show as 'perverted PR opportunity'
    Inside Edition
    INSIDE EDITION

Ariana Grande sold-out Manchester Arena show may have specifically targeted by ISIS because of the singer's self-assurance and sexy, proudly feminine style, everything the terrorist organization despises.

Read: Thousands Gather in Manchester Streets in Solidarity After Bombing: 'We Are the Many, They Are the Few'

Grande has a vibrant social media following, and her concerts are packed with young women and girls who admire her message.

Mubin Shaikh, a former extremist, believes ISIS viewed the attack as a kind of perverted "PR opportunity."

"To hit a den of immorality, as ISIS acolytes are calling it, it's a great target for them," he said. "Ariana Grande is a big name brand; the media will descend on it. Children being killed will get coverage, and that emotional reaction. So, all these things are hitting at the same time at the same place."

U2's Bono echoed that sentiment on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night.

"They hate music. They hate women. They even hate little girls. They hate everything that we love," the Irish rocker said. "The worst of humanity was on view in Manchester last night, but so was the best as people took perfect strangers into their houses and queued up at blood banks. Manchester has an undefeatable spirit, I can assure you."

Now, some of the biggest stars in pop music are saying their shows will go on despite the carnage in Manchester.

Photographers caught up to Nicki Minaj in Los Angeles where she said she will perform or else "they win."

Katy Perry says she'll perform as scheduled at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Hull, England.

"I think that the greatest thing we could do is just unite and love on each other, and like, no barriers, no borders, like, we all need to just co-exist," she told Elvis Duran on Z100 radio in New York.
Perry was blasted as "naive" by conservative commentator Michelle Malkin on Fox & Friends Wednesday morning.

Myself, and a lot of other Boomers will, mercifully, be dead as door-nails by that point. But I don't blame any one "generation", per se, although I must say that Millennials are almost comically pliable and oh-so-easily influenced. It usually works that way with people who are badly, sadly, and miserably under-educated. The "Whatever" generation neither knows nor cares how badly they've been screwed by everybody, and they lack the energy, depth, and intellectual curiosity to find out.... :spin:

Foremost among those who should bear guilt for the spread of this hideously insane, murderous 'religion' are the internationalist bankers and other "1984"-esque socialist bastards who thought they could so effortlessly seduce the entire world into doing their bidding after World War II. They imported the Islamo-toxicity into Europe, first from Turkey, during the 1960's, and now they'll never get rid of it. And, for that matter, as long as the central bankers need/want cheap labor and an "inclusive" society, they won't want to get rid of it, either....

He didn't defend it, even though it's BLATANTLY against Biblical teachings, because he APPROVED OF IT. Like there's no need to say "yes, 2+2 is 4", since that' just so obvious. It's also equally obvious that the Bible hates gays and does not approve of same-sex marriage. Jesus allegedly said that marriage was between a man and a woman. Stop giving an allegedly all-powerful, all-loving being a pass on this barbarity. He's had 2000 YEARS to clarity this - clearly he's either immoral or not real....either way he's obviously not worshipping.....so I left Christianity. Best move I ever made.

It's a verse in an ancient book, for goodness sake! If some idiot wants to take that literally it's him I'm going to condemn, not some 'prophet' who died 1000 years ago. Same with the bible.
